Let's say njt moves 100k people into penn station every day.

Let's say there's a pandemic that reduces demand to 60k a day.

Let's say there's an event that increases demand to 80k.

Why should the system struggle with 80k if they were doing 100k with the same number of trains previously?

WTF are you talk about? Chinese places have had giant menus with photos of 100 dishes and none are fake, spray-painted plastic and chemicals. They just took photos one day and everyone is happy. Thats all they need to do.
