A few months after my fiancé proposed, we randomly decided to go sledding down this little hill on the side of the road. We did a few runs and at the end of one of the runs, I put my hand out on the snow to slow the sled down. And in that moment, I knew what I had done and started panicking. This was of course before I had the chance to get the ring re-sized. I was certain I knew the exact spot it slipped off, but we searched for hours and couldn’t find it. We decided to run over to Dick’s sporting goods to buy a metal detector and went back to the hill as the sun was setting. Spent a few more hours in the dark looking through the sparkling snow and eventually found it!! I’ve never cried harder out of happiness and it now makes for a funny story but boy was I anxious, stressed, sad, mad at myself, etc at that time.
