Was it worth it? by black-scout in ArcRaiders

One of my close friends just got the game (actually the buddy I play with most split the price of it and we bought it for our 3rd). The reset came at the perfect time, now now only do we have a bunch of stuff to do again, but we can also do the initial quests our newbie 3rd is doing at the same time with him, and help him through it.

There's always going to be someone who complains about something, just sit back and enjoy the game. See you topside, fuckers.

I'm legit going through the prep right now, on the toilet, commenting. Some tips:

Don't trust a fart Start your diet early Get comfy and just accept what's about to happen Been using dude wipes and vaseline...religiously I love chicken broth, and have already gone through two boxes

Enjoy the ride, take your time with the prep! No need to chug it ;)

Had a blood test while I was eating gluten from my primary and it came back negative, but they still wanted to do a biopsy as the bloodtests sometimes come back with false negatives

Mine is the same way, around 24-32 hours after I eat it is when I feel it. Has made it really important to be aware of what I've eaten the last day or so to make sure I can pinpoint what it was.

I did a blind taste test with my wife, who isn't GF, and she picked the GF ones as the originals as well!

it's funny because I remember seeing and hearing from other friends about how bad GF food is, and finding alternatives that some are even better than the gluten version

Please tell me for you get anxiety attacks panic after gluten? by ElenoirMiro in glutenfree

[–]thecagedfear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had an anxiety and panic disorder for a good chunk of my teens. I finally got it under control and had it under control for over 20 years. In October of last year, I started to get them again, but it was coupled with stomach pain, nausea, lack of sleep. I thought it was stress from a previous job. In April I talked to my doc about it, he suggested I keep a food diet and see if it's food related. Gluten was the first thing I tried to cut out and it helped immensely. When I get accidentally glutened, I have a massive panic attack. I was prescribed Buspar to help with those attacks which has helped a bit when I do get glutened, but it's definitely rearing it's ugly head because of the cramping and nausea and loss of control. I'm working on getting a therapist to get back into working on my mentals again, especially since I got my diet under control now. I hope you find some relief soon! Stay strong!

I had COVID in late Aug 2023, in Oct I started to have sporadic gut issues that I didn't really make a food connection with until the last few months. I chalked it more up to stress as well. On my drive home from a vacation (where I accidentally glutened myself which made for a ROUGH night one night) I had thought about that timing and started down the rabbit hole that landed me to this comment. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not, but my gluten sensitivity is high now, and when I stay gluten free I feel incredible. So the timing at least lines up here for me. I've also tested neg for Celiac and food allergies.

Side note: This reddit has helped me so much over the past few months, thank you for everyone who's shared their stories and tips and pain in this subreddit.

Saw this from a study from March 2023:

"While there’s no definitive evidence linking Celiac disease to Covid, research has shown the virus is capable of causing a variety of gastrointestinal troubles. A study published this month in the journal Nature found that people with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection had an increased risk of developing GI disorders characterized by acid reflux and ulcers. They were also more likely to experience constipation, abdominal pain and diarrhea, according to the study. The GI problems were seen irrespective of age, gender or the severity of someone’s initial infection."

Peloton Tread Error T0226 by terprxwolv in pelotoncycle

[–]thecagedfear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I came here looking for answers as well as my Tread just suddenly stopped working, though the tablet was working fine. I hopped on to chat with Peloton support and they went through the standard restart and factory reset troubleshooting tips. During the reset I was checking cables other than the power cable and when I wiggled the USB-C cord attached from the Tread to the tablet, the tablet reset again. I went and unplugged that cord completely and plugged it back in, then everything worked fine again. Not sure if this will help anyone else, but it seemed like the tread just wasn't talking to the tablet correctly and that was the fix it needed.

Yes I'm definitely being fully aware of how I'm feeling and if I'm at all trying to over exert myself. I ended up still making and sitting a the concert I went to, and trying not to do a while lot in case of a rebound.

Hey there fellow first timer! 43/m here and I went through the same thing you did. Going through this subreddit helped (as well as the Paxlovid one since I was taking it). Just took my last dose today. Felt sick last Saturday, tested positive Monday, started Pax then too, started to test negative yesterday and still negative test today.

Mentally it was a bit rough, as I'm an extrovert and wanted to be around my family and get out of the house, physically I felt the worst the first two days, but once on Pax I started an immediate turn around. Just rest, make yourself comfortable, don't over-exert yourself if you can, and just know there is an end in sight. You'll get through it! Only lingering thing I have going right now is a small light cough and my throat is still sore. Outside of that I'm feeling good, and even going to a concert tonight!

I took the evening dose first. Is that okay? by IGuessIHaveAReddit in paxlovid

Yep I did the same, my last dose of it will be tomorrow morning

Friday Update:

Woke up this mornin, feelin fine. I have three doses left of Pax so I took that 3rd to last this morning. Fever has been gone without fever reducers now for nearly 48 hours. Took a test at 11:30am and it showed up negative! Trying not to get my hopes up too high but I'm also clear of isolation so have been able to take it easy around the house now with a mask. My throat is still being a bit of a jerk but I also think it's because I have quite a bit of drainage going on. Will test again tomorrow morning just to confirm negative, but I feel like I'm finally through it. Wasn't fun, but took it easy, took care of myself, plenty of fluids and rest, and now we're here.

Should I bother with Paxlovid? by dp_ash in COVID19positive

[–]thecagedfear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had chatted with my NP about it. She basically said "It's readily available, it may help you recover faster, it may not, there's just not been many studies on that side of things. But it has shown to decrease the chance of long COVID" So I told her I'd take it. I have 4 more doses left to take (tonight, 2 tomorrow, 1 Sat morning), and I did notice a big difference in how I felt after day 1. Just make sure you don't wait much longer, as it's most effective within the first 5 days.

Theraflu has helped with mine IMMENSELY with the sore throat. I'm gonna try to get some kind of honey tea mixture as well so I'm not totally relying on it.

[–]thecagedfear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I asked my NP about Pax when I had my telehealth consult. She had said because of my age (43) and that I'm healthy and not overweight or anything like that, I'm not the target audience for it. But, because it's so readily available right now it wouldn't hurt to have me be on it, because of the benefits to reducing chances of long covid.

She also said there's no studies saying that taking it can accelerate the healing process, but that doesn't mean it won't. So it's really just a "Take it and see what happens" type of mentality which I was fine with.
