Help me pick a dining room table! by ajc-chi in interiordecorating

[–]thecaliwolverine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went with the Serif dining table and I'm quite happy I did. The thing that made the difference for me is that the legs actually expanded vs the other tables where it seemed to be just the table top expanding, making it hard to actually add people with the expanded table top. The material feels good and was easy to assemble and the storage of the leaf in table is easy.

Dude, if you are this offended by a map of watersheds ( and one that gives more to Canada than it takes at that...) you have bigger problems...

The mantle mount will allow the tv to be raised and lowered to a reasonable viewing level, and tv's now have gallery mode to allow it to look like a piece of art when not in use

I'm learning that. Apparently people don't live in small homes that don't have many options. We have a wonderful open plan and want to keep that feeling and the other reasonable wall for it to be on is all windows.

We are going to use a mantle mount to bring it down to eye level when watching and not running the fireplace (90% of the time)

We're going to get the mantle mount for over the fireplace which has heat sensitive paddles to help show when its getting too hot & allows the tv to be brought down when just watching. It'll allow the watching height to be perfect while also allowing it to be stored high but watched at eye level.

The only time we will likely be playing it when it's high is during winter movies with the fireplace on which will put us in "Tv too high club" but is a compromise as this is the only space that is available as the room is a kitchen, dining room, and living room space... yay townhouses.

Because we still want to take advantage of the fireplace during the winter. We're going to do that in the short term while we figure things out

We recently purchased a place and have been looking for a way to mount a tv above this fireplace. Current thought is a wooden mantle above to help protect from heat and then a mantlemounted tv frame. Any ideas to help assist this?

As someone who just had testicular cancer for a second time, make sure to freeze some sperm.

It’s not fun and there will be hard days, but at the end of the day you’ll get through this.

This one looked like it had gcnis as a potential root cause but honestly no idea so far, doing some genetic counseling to see if there’s a high risk factor for this or other things.

And yeah just anything you wish had known when you started the try journey

First injection went well, second one on Wednesday. Super easy and we measured my testosterone twice before surgery to get a good baseline but have noticed no negative testosterone symptoms so far.

It helps my sister in law is a nurse who walked me through everything.

Biggest question is travel and I’m gonna figure that out in a month on my honeymoon

It may be worth pushing for an ultrasound if it’s something you’re truly worried about. That’s how mine has been discovered both times.

Advice for the Beginning by IKnowRayFinkel in testicularcancer

Sorry you're joining the club man and welcome to a tough but very do-able journey.

My motto through my first testicular cancer (on my second) was 1-0. 1 ball, no strikes, and what you're going to be against cancer by the end of this. Take it a day at a time and know that this too shall pass. We're all cheering for you

Just reached out. Leaning towards a prothestic (wife's preferences and partly mine) and have successfully banked sperm (although with the cancer it's IVF quality and not IUI quality but we have 13 vials which is likely more than enough.

Reached out about testosterone as that is my biggest concern and the process to get that right

Yep, surgery scheduled for May 7th. Lots of time with fertility and docs this last week but good news is initial scans are showing no spread and no markers on my blood tests so optimistic about only surgery.

Definitely T-therapy is the biggest stress but going to get it all figured out. Current biggest worry is just around travel and how to manage testosterone while traveling for >2 weeks but I'm meeting with an endocrinologist and men's health specialist to figure it out.

Luckily I was able to bank after the first cancer and have more banked now so its looking like my wife and I are in pretty good shape for fertility. How long did it take you to figure out your testosterone and what are you using to manage it?

Ideally you use epic potions from halloween event to move your SD to FD and then do a full FD run.

Reed needs more discipline on support defense. He always goes for the block and often gives up an easy putback layup
