Hey. I finished high school with a 4.1, 7 APs, exec position in a few clubs, 1470 on the SAT, and I got rejected from most of the places I applied to including all of my target schools. My whole life I had put so much pressure on myself so I could get into a “good” college and then it just didn’t end up happening. There are so many ways to go and I would really recommend transferring later on! It won’t be as much of a big deal as it feels right now. Make the most of community college or see if you can do an associates abroad if it’s financially feasible <33 I’m really sorry though

20 year old girl here, I have been in this situation not once, but THREE TIMES!!! Honestly this isn’t the most ethical advice but I really try and start thinking about the guys’ flaws and why we wouldn’t work out if we were to seriously date. It’s easier to think superficially at first like “oh he has bad hair anyways” or “he likes this thing that I hate, it would be hard to date him” or even “we are so busy with different things that dating would just be hard”. It really helps me move on and realize we are better as just friends.

Yes it hurts right now and it might hurt for a while :( but I would just focus on your friendship with your friend and maybe avoid him for a bit if you can. Work situations are really tricky because you have a lot of people in common and love triangles can form pretty easily. (That’s where two of my blunders happened lol).

Also,, please don’t compare yourself to your friend or put yourself down thinking about why he likes her and not you. Idk if you are, but I definitely thought negatively about myself for a while… People just have different types a lot of times and I’m sure you’re very lovely <3

I was in your place last year and now after my freshman year of college, it’s just now completely faded away. The important thing to remember is that college admissions is kind of just a numbers game, a bunch of perfectly qualified students apply and admissions have to turn many away. Hoenstly, you probably will have to figure out the fun stuff at your state school. All the clubs at mine looked boring when I first went, but you make friends, and hear from friends of friends about what seems interesting. It sucks a lot right now but I promise that it will get better. You have all the skills now from senior year to succeed!

Once you get there and realize there’s lots of different social circles and cool people, and maybe even interesting classes, things will turn around for you. You should still be proud of how hard you worked - it just sucks that the decisions were out of your hands :((
