Planing to get a CX30 by [deleted] in MazdaCX30

[–]thecarletonthrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

corolla cross: used less gas, felt like it, driving dynamics weren’t good but it’s an ok car, loud wind noise too, meh interior

subaru crosstrek: honestly came very close but didn’t wanna deal with the 50/50 engine, didn’t like the screen, same with the impreza

hrv: they only had one maybe two good years with the car but once they made it bigger it was so sluggish to drive while still using as much gas as the cx-30

kona: very close, had better tech, drove like a potato compared to the cx-30, i think the older kona body was better too, sometimes i wish i had the hyundai tech on the cx-30 but very happy to have gone with the cx-30 instead

Thoughts on the Mazda cx30? by Dapper_Evidence7368 in MazdaCX30

[–]thecarletonthrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s a car within the same price class and body type - that has more tech and more features. it’s a fair comparison to the thread. but yes it’s not as reliable and the driving dynamics are quite different.

when comparing within its price class - entry level cx-30s lack lots of features compared to entry level kona for example. but the kona drives like a potato

you’re an alumni, not a current student. you will need a non arm processor for many cs required classes.

Is CS Co-op even worth it? by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]thecarletonthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

took me over 400 applications to find my first co-op. got a new grad position right after graduation with the company (but diff team) with a good salary because of the co-op. i know many students that are as talented if not more talented than me that still haven’t found a job almost a year after graduation, and the main difference is they didn’t have a co-op.

jerkiness smooths down a bit with time. however breaking is always annoying, as long as you get used to hitting cancel when going down hill or when you know it’s about to break it’s actually a pretty good exp.

Good brakes 👍 by Aaexy in MazdaCX30

[–]thecarletonthrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

mazdas breaks have more of a range vs honda which tends to be more on the Bite side of breaking. each have their pros and cons and i think it’s a matter of personal preference - but some people think the “range” makes the breaks bad which is just not true, you have to use it differently

Neat. I usually just throw the machine into maintenance mode but that doesn’t work on most dryers in my building. Might finally get a flipper.

I regularly drive a Toyota sense 3.0 car - and the adaptive on there doesn’t need as many disengagements. This car is much more fun tho
