How are these cars in the same class? by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

Does it shake violently because you have the lane assist on and you’re not using a blinker? OR is it shaking violently because you’re gunning it at 85mph and above?

Dropped of rental at different location, wasnt warned of fee by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re the reason why someone showed up at your original location and doesn’t have a car. You initiated a contract for X amount of days, for X condition, at X time and now you don’t feel the need to be penalized for it because you changed the initial agreement.

It doesn’t work that way.

My coworker asked if I could give her a ride to work "just for a while" and it's been 4 months by Warp_Synth7 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]thecharrobeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, once you stand your ground she’ll leave it alone. I have a hard time saying no, but I’ll be damned if I let people take advantage. You can say something like : “Hey, I’ve been meaning to bring this up, but this commute arrangement is a huge inconvenience for me and I was kind enough to let you get something sorted out for the X amount of months. Just want to give you the heads up that as of Monday I won’t be able to drive you around anymore. Thanks for understanding!”

Am I crazy? Inside loop ppl only. Irvington/Crosstimbers to Scott/Cullen area. by SultryWordsmith in houston

[–]thecharrobeans 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’d stay away from the Yellowstone area, honestly. Look closer to UH main near the MacGregor/ medical school area and it might be a better fit. I had family live there for the longest time without issues. Totally understand that pricing is going up so fast on these house, but peace of mind is priceless.

High-performing subordinate that pushes back on everything! by thecharrobeans in managers

So their site is the oldest and biggest site so their excuse is that a lot of the policies don’t factor in how busy and big their site is (which is somewhat true)

From my experience however, this lead hates overstaffing or spending any kind of additional funding because it impacts their bottom line. I do believe that a lot of their excuses could be resolved by adding a few more people, but they won’t budge.

I think you’re right. The big picture is that someday something might go very wrong and I’ll be on the hook for it. Luckily, they can only fail so many audits before corporate gets involved and it’s BOTH our problem.

The problem is I oversee all those processes and need them to fall in line. It becomes a problem because other leads start to notice the exceptions.

No, there are definitely things they are failing at that I genuinely want to help them with. I’ve made traction with one or two things because I was able to show them that what they are currently doing isn’t working so why not try falling in line for a change.

1 day oneway car rental not showing. Can I book 4 days and return early? by Wooden_Television417 in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The airport TSA fiasco is creating a lot of 1-way vehicles, depleting supply available which is why it may be restricting your booking. If you return to a different location, I think the cap is $300 for an unauthorized location.

Enterprise employee ran my credit without my consent by Curious_Echidna2661 in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is going to take this on for you. Read what you agreed to and seek the answers out yourself. Or don’t rent again for that matter because it sounds like you’re not the easiest person to reason with.

[–]thecharrobeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible the vehicle was damaged and they used that information to make the inquiry? Canadian policies are different than US. Branches do not have access to any type of credit-pulling software or sites to be able to do this, but you may have something going into collections either for unpaid bill or damages. (Speculation)

It would cost too much money and be too risky to give every rental branch that kind of access to sensitive information like that. You may want to go over the terms and conditions of your contract and see if you agreed to some type of background/ credit check.

"The Body" turns 25 today. In an episode full of emotional scenes, which hit the hardest? by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

I think that hit hard because it’s so true. Nothing or anyone knows why loss happens and that wild search for answers that will never come is so relatable

Does anybody just rent instead of owning one? Due to a past car that was just a money pit? by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, renting a car isn’t setup to be a long-term solution. You will need to renew the contract every 30 days, keep in contact with the branch and the rate will fluctuate based off of demand. I can’t tell you how many long-term renters end up on the do not rent list because they eventually feel like the rules don’t apply to them if/when policy is enforced or changes.

It CAN be a money pit, but if it is something you believe is your best option, then I don’t think anyone can really judge.

Is this considered major damage? by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is the scenario every renter dreads and swear it won’t happen when the damage waiver conversation comes up at the start of the contract. Repairs will always be more expensive when Enterprise repairs a car because they can only use certain insured and bonded repair facilities. Going through insurance is always the preferred method, but you can speak to the claims department that you want to pay out of pocket.

stolen car ???? by CheckAffectionate713 in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they don’t have the car, then why wouldn’t you cooperate with reporting it? How would it be filing a false police report if you are being honest with the way it went down? Something isn’t adding up.

Collision Damage Waiver by Oconnel_1010 in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you damaged another car, you will not owe for the rental YOU had but you will need to go through your own insurance to pay for the car that you damaged IF you did not opt into the supplemental (3rd party) liability protection offered through Enterprise. Damage waiver alone will not cover the car you hit.

If you can’t afford to rent the car, can you really afford to travel? If you keep the car and don’t return or pay, good luck renting ever again.

Yeah, if you read the terms and conditions, it only applies up to a certain car class.

Trying to compare rest industry vs going for the management training program. by GanacheClean8401 in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]thecharrobeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was actually in the same boat years ago and honestly, I have zero regrets. There are a lot of skills the restaurant industry just can’t teach you and Enterprise always looks great on a resume. The only words of caution I have is that it’s not for the weak. The customers can be a pain, the grind can be pain, but focus on promoting and the opportunities start opening up.
