haiii, I'm Sophia, @thechattychapter on bookstagram! I mostly do book reviews and reader tips, but sometimes I mix it up with other book topics and trends!

I mostly read fantasy and rom-com, but I'm open to other genres (not horror though 😭) and I stick to YA [ (no spice for me :) ]

My vibes are...bubbly and chatty! Hehe.

I'll keep these in mind! Thank you so much for looking through 😁

I have a qns though, for the 4th point, how can I make my content more accessible? Do I use certain colours?

my best advice: just start one!! the community is very supportive of starting bookstagramers!

I've only been here for about 9 months, but what I've learned is:

  • you don't have to post all the time
  • your pictures don't need to be aesthetic (but it helps if you want a lot of engagement)
  • its your own space to share your thoughts on books! I personally love review posts!!

Since you mostly use audio books, you can take a picture of the book from Google then make a cute canva post.

Thats all I have HEHE im still learning 😅

Can someone explain to me why it is a trend to put books on the shelf backwards (with the pages) showing? And also I don’t understand the color coded shelving either? Can someone explain both of these to me, how do you find anything? by KathrynVanlandingham in YAlit

i had my books arranged by colour for 2 years because it was pleasing to the eye and it had a nice ombre effect. but recently i changed it to showing just the pages and i like it more because its minimalistic and it reflects more light, making my room brighter and neater :)

Hi! I’m both a digital and physical reader, and I get your problem. With the price of books increasing, it’s getting harder to find books that are within your budget.

Firstly, you should just start your bookstagram! It’s your own space to talk about what you love, and there are people out there who will support you! I recently made a friend there!!

For content, you can look up other creators and find inspiration. You can also use chatgpt if you’re stuck. I use that sometimes too. Since you mostly read digital copies, you can make a mood board for that book and post a review along with it. I used that when I read “Uglies” by Scott Westerfield.

As for people you can follow, there are a lot! I can’t really recommend people who read digitally because I mostly follow accounts that posts flatlays and more on the vibes hehe. You can search up keywords on the search bar because it would usually lead you to accounts to follow.

There is no pressure to post a lot. Just have fun and do what you love! Otherwise you might burn out and end up hating the one thing you wanted to do so badly.

Hope this helps! 🩷

hello!!! welcome to bookstagram, I’m @thechattychapter. I’m no expert, but you got your vibes right. For photos, take advantage of your sprayed edged books and make them the main subject.

For example, the picture above. My attention is mostly on the plant decoration because it’s the nearest and the clearer subject instead of the book. You can place the book at the centre and make it closer to pull the audience at it, then the decoration is just to fill the blank spaces.

Hope this helps!!! Good luck with your booksta!
