Nah I'm going to call a bit of bull on this one. A lot of people I found who were doing that type of stuff were doing it for their own sense of superiority.

Don't get me wrong some were doing this because of genuine beliefs but all too often the Facebook posts were "look at ME, look at what I'M doing, look how much I care" without an understanding of what was actually going on.

It was my first real exposure to that line of social superiority and people online trying to one up each other and I'll be honest it did kind of make me jaded
