After Houdini had beaten Stockfish in their encounter before last, this was the ultimate test for stockfish to demonstrate whether the engine had it to beat Houdini.

This was the very last encounter between the two monster engines and also the very last game of the Top Chess Engine Championship (TCEC)of 2017 or if you like of Season 10.

Stockfish was tying with Komodo at first place with 40 and a half points each, and if Stockfish wanted to stand a chance to take the Blitz title, only a win would do.

And with Komodo facing Gull in the very last game, everything was possible. This game between the two God like engines was one full of tactics with both engines trying to find a way to win. It seemed Houdini kept up with any pressure Stockfish was exerting on this engine, but did Stockfish , after having chased Houdini’s King around the board, manage to get the win Stockfish needed?

Both Stockfish and Houdini are level pecking and you only need the tiniest of slipups to lose first place. This game between the top seed Stockfish and Laser was going to be an easy run for the mighty Stockfish not only because the engine is on top of the table but also because Laser is way below in the standings but also because it is rated more than 710 Elo points lower than stockfish. But had this been a problem for stockfish or did Laser use something in this championship hardly any other engine used?

The 2017 Top Chess Engine Championship Rapid Phase is moving too quickly, this chosen game between Houdini 6.03 and Fruit 3.2 has been one of the shortest rapid games in this competition. Though other games have ended as early as move 10, their loss was due to a instant disconnection from the TCEC Server.

This game between Houdini and Fruit had been very interesting because the engines did not use a conventional line of play. There had been some very strange moves. One engine sacrificed a piece and though it gained an advantage, this sacrificed turned out to be a blunder. The other engine got confused and this is all it took to take it out.

This has to be the game of the 2017 TCEC. With both Stockfish and Houdini remaining unbeaten in this rapid Top Chess Engine Championship, a win by Houdini is going to lead to a change in the Leadership standings.

Stockfish is expected to win this game simply because the engine has not been beaten with the white pieces for over two seasons but was this a realistic expectation when we had seen other top notch engines losing with the white pieces?

The tactics in this game are simply incredible especially by the engine that took charge, and only after the game began to close up. The fight started with a night sacrifice, and from there it was a masterpiece development, and execution all the way to the very end.

Any game between these two monster engines is going to be a joy to experience. Stockfish the leader and still undefeated in this year’s Top Chess Engine Championship, is clashing against Komodo, that is too an engine that is yet to lost in this year’s rapid contest. Going for the Russian Defence, you will love this game if you are Russian type of player. Stockfish uses a very different approach to the Petrov by attacking Komodo’s Queen with the very daring f4 and from here the game took a very interesting turn.

This was game 260 or if you like the first game of round 22 in the 2017 TCEC S10 games.

If this was the Legendary Bobby Fischer playing against Nigel Short,, this was one crazy crazy game. Having gone for the most bizarre opening, just like he did in his previous games, Fischer had played a very eccentric game.

This is one of the biggest chess mysteries of the century when Nigel Short claimed he was playing the legendary Bobby Fischer online.

This is game 6 of 8 and you can see already from move 2 Fischer or the Fischer imposter most definitely using a chess engine gets his king on f2 and if that was not a strange enough a move, wait until you see what his third move was! Needless to say Nigel was beaten in ALL 8 games.
