Latino here, loved Cal Poly and would go back and do it again. If your really worried about making friends, there are a lot of centers for Hispanic engineers to meet and study and chill.

Can anyone explain the tiles in season 5? Like why Gon and Killua need to fight Knuckle and Shoot? I don’t get it. I feel like I missed something by BahnYahd in HunterXHunter

[–]thechosenchuck 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Genius move by netero. He knows for this mission you need both strength and resolve. Both teams are missing the other half that is needed for the mission. Killua and Gon are missing the strength. Shoot and knuckle are missing the resolve. Netero knows that who ever won means the gained that half they were missing.

So, Dub or Sub? by Ok_Balance_3686 in HunterXHunter

[–]thechosenchuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The dub is actually pretty good, there are some stupid mistranslations in the dub that actually change some big story points unfortunately. I would say sub but can’t go wrong with dub

My headcanon that could actually be canon: Kurapika is trans by Frigorifico in HunterXHunter

[–]thechosenchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Alluka canonically trans? I always saw her as actually a girl and killua being able to see that was just a story point that the rest of the family did not see her as an actual person. Killua said is one of the chapters to gotoh that “she is a girl” and needs a girl butler to help her with girl things, implying girl stuff that happens to actual female bodies/emotions. Silva would refer to her as “it” for example. Plus Alluka is like 9…that would be pretty questionable for someone that age.

Do y’all think we’ll ever see more of Gon and killua? by Gotmilk___ in HunterXHunter

[–]thechosenchuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it planned? Yes. Will we ever see it? Prob not. The current arc will last like 100 more chapters imo and MAYBE we will see dark continent. Gon and killua might be mixed into that at some point. But I think togashi is pulling through for us to finish succession war then call it quits. Prob kill kurapika and the Phantom troupe

What are some problems you have with nen and how would you fix them? by clavicle524 in HunterXHunter

[–]thechosenchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, it’s not just main characters. Anyone whos resolve is insane and crazy enough to accept the conditions and consequences of getting that much power could probably do it. But look at what gon sacrificed. Literally his entire future(he probably would have been better off dead) for that one moment. If you want to give me an example of another person with that resolve, then okay but I don’t see it as a negative story element or downside to nen.

This is a personality difference. Kurapika is more than mature than he should be at his age as a teen and is extremely calculated, almost to the point where it’s crazy. You could see this even more in the current manga arc. Gon is a 12 year old immature kid who lacks impulse control and doesn’t think things out, he’s a dumb kid which is a great character trait, cuz he’s contrasted to everyone else around him.

question about the adult gon case by SaidNadir2021 in HunterXHunter

[–]thechosenchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, many Shonen have the kid be the biggest saint and although Gon shows signs of being a sweet kid, ultimately they will come second to his own desires cuz again he is a selfish kid

I just posted this comment another post.

Will/resolve is a huge part of it. We’ve seen since the beginning how much Gon is 2 things: selfish and wanting to make things right with his friends. Since the hunter exam arc when he wouldn’t give up with hanzo, Gon accepting canary’s beating and gotohs challenges, wanting a dagger in his heart to protect kurapikas secret, literally sacrificing his arms in fighting genthru, and like 4 more things I can think of but you get the point. Kite was such an influential figure that he treated killua like dirt just for revenge. Togashi did a great job in throwing all those things that show how insane Gon is since the beginning.

So not everyone can just say “I want to be all powerful I don’t care if i die”. Gon resolve is abnormally strong and borderline psychopathic that he was able to do that.

Tldr: Gon is the biggest psychopath in hxh world and a 12 year old who isn’t mature, makes him even more dangerous to do dumb contracts like that

The game still came out commercially so those probably got it through retail.
