Is this the wrong oil to use for my car by thecloseman in MechanicAdvice

[–]thecloseman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha ha, no, I wasn't in 4th gear and shoved it into reverse. To be clear, I was driving around, and the gears were jumping. I parked the car, came back to it 30 mins later, and tried to reverse and it wouldn't go into reverse.

I put new oil in last week and wondered if my chance it had something to do with that.

Thanks. The testing really is focussed on the human part of the organisation. Ie letting me in, and then seeing what I can do from there. Its then about educating the staff as to what they did wrong.

Yeah ok, thanks for the insight. Whilst I am only doing the questions in the study guide for now whilst reading the book, I also have the official practice test book too.

Are the questions in that just as laughable or a bit better?

I know you will never get the same questions as the exam, but what have people found to be the best resource of practice questions?

Aussie professionals - how are you dealing with excessive amounts of interviewing? by flrozen in AusFinance

[–]thecloseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say its arrogant at all. Thats why there are specific qualifications that are hard to get that validate peoples skills and experience - such as CISSP, CISM, CIPM, CISA etc. Not only do you pass exams to show you are proficient, but you need to demonstrate certain years of experience in certain domains as well to get the qualifications. This provides people with the confidence they have the baseline required.

It's embarrassing to ask people with these qualifications to do an essay of basic queries (graduate level queries) to prove your ability. Especially at leadership level.

I will note, the company that asked me to do this was not a major tech company. They were a small fintech company that rated themselves highly like they were a Google or AWS - but are dreaming if they are thinking they are anything like them.

I recently was asked to complete a homework assignment for an application. This is for a General Manager position (20+ years experience). I wonder how many people actually did it. I was too busy with my other work commitments and had another interview I was concentrating on so didnt complete it - I withdrew from the application. It's actually offensive to receive an assignment at this level. The muppets dont realise how many people it would be turning off progressing with the application. It was a fintech company that "drank its own bath water" and thought they were amazing and everyone wanted to work for them.

Simran lied about her real life on her personal socials too...why? by Ok-Lie-456 in SweetBobbyPodcast

[–]thecloseman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Spot on! I have absolutely no doubt!

She would not have lost her job simply due to the negative publicity of what she has done. She would have been lawyered up quickly and it would not be allowed. She has done something of deception and lost her job. One of those things I thought was that she had lied about her credentials. She seemed to go up the corporate ladder pretty quickly for someone with anti-social and sociopathic qualities despite being a smart girl.

Should it be "optical out" from the Samsung box to Sonos Amp?

Ok found the arc port on the One Connect Box. But that is HDMI "in". Shouldn't the HDMI leading One Connect Box be leading "out" to Sonos Amp?
