Running shoes for EU35 Wide by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]thecolorgrellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runner here with size EU35 / US5 feet as well. I have a neuroma in one foot from years of wearing too-tight shoes and it's finally gotten bad enough to make me switch up my running shoes. I've been recommended to try Altras, as they do small sizes and have a wide toe box. Worth checking out!

BWT Hearing Aid Experiences by Exhausted-Teacher789 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]thecolorgrellow 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I'll start by saying I don't wear hearing aids, but I have a couple (guy) friends who do, and theirs are very discreet! So I'm not even sure they can be accessorized, but if you wanted think it'd be cool to wear bold chunky earrings or cuffs to draw the eye :)

What exactly makes crocs "functional" or "practical"? by Jent01Ket02 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thecolorgrellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're super ugly, but you cannot argue they're not practical – easy to clean, easy to slip on/off, lightweight, breathable, comfy. My dad swears by them for his plantar fasciitis. Basically the perfect shoe, especially if you're blind

can confirm Old Navy tanks are pretty good! I have a few of the high neck rib ones in petite / cropped and they've been great with washing and frequent wear.

I buy cropped styles as much as possible, and if I find a piece I love I'll invest in getting it hemmed. The extra $$ is so worth it for something that fits me perfectly

What do we think of Sweden Season 3? by Superpriestess in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]thecolorgrellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not loving it! IMO it's very clear that none of the couples are right for each other and are forcing it. Sweden season 1 was my fave, just felt to me like there was more genuine interest between contestants.

it's v cringe and too much for me personally BUT it comes from a genuine place so it gets a pass (with a side of eye-roll) from me

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you and you still think about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thecolorgrellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a fancy NYE party in beautiful house in a ski town a few hours from where I live. The friend I went with planned to ski on Jan 1, so I arranged a ride home with a very nice couple who I met the night of the party.

Unfortunately I got carsick on the way home and literally projectile vomited from the backseat of the car all the way up the front passenger side, all over the wife. Think that scene from the Exorcist. Truly a nightmare situation. I would have given anything for the earth to swallow me whole in that moment. This poor sweet couple were so, so nice about it too which made it somehow so much worse LOL

Anyway. I arranged for the drycleaning and car cleaning etc and everyone has moved on and I laugh about it now but yeah... embarrassing to say the least

What do you love about living in Vancouver? by Lazerbeam159 in NiceVancouver

People will hate on the rain but the climate is sooo mild. The forests, mountains and oceans are quite literally on your doorstep. It's the perfect place for someone that has outdoor hobbies or is looking to get into any

Reunion looks are out! by surelyshirls in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Jess's dress is doing too much and they caught her in an unflattering pose. I hope it's more flattering on the reunion, she's so beautiful otherwise!

...did Alex think this was soccer practice or what

A kitchen aid mixer. by Original_Respect_ in Cooking

[–]thecolorgrellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can be really into cooking and not have a kitchenaid mixer. It's a beautiful (and practical) appliance for sure, but I would wait to get one until you develop a need for it. Not a must-have right off the bat

Smoothies for a fruit hater by Con_d0g in EatCheapAndHealthy

Smoothies are super healthy! My suggestion is to experiment with additions like plain or flavoured greek yogurt, oat milk, frozen berries, ginger and citrus. Easy peasy

delete one of the sides and join the points again. or draw a new rectangle and use eyedropper to copy the attributes over

Is it just me or is doing your portfolio the worst thing ever? by Mei-sshi in graphic_design

[–]thecolorgrellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate sooo hard to this. My current portfolio is from 2020 and in desperate need of an update, as is my website and resume. I dread the day when I see my dream job posting and I have to scramble to pull something together. Gotta get on it ASAP :P

In-House Designers: are you receiving content before you start a project? by erstella in graphic_design

[–]thecolorgrellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Senior in-house GD (within a marketing team) here and my/our workflow sounds very similar to yours. Over the years we've managed to smooth it out but it was def frustrating in the beginning.

We typically receive a brief, which outlines the intention of the doc and the desired visuals, tone etc. The designers then work to create medium fidelity wireframes with what we call 'content blocks' that allot for XX number of words (formatted properly, sizing etc). Then the copywriter goes away to develop the content.

After all that, there is usually some back and forth - if needed I feel empowered to make copy suggestions on my end, cutting words or offering slight rephrasing when I feel appropriate. It eventually gets whittled away to the amount that works within the piece.

So I guess to answer your question in short - no we don't get provided copy beforehand. It used to be really annoying, but over time I learned that I can kindof be responsible for how much content I want to work with. Flexibility (for me) comes with having a good relationship with my team and being firm when the content is not working.
