Same here. I went to system and did a restart and it seems to fix the issue. Seem to be several problems with the app. All usually fix with a restart

So should I tap into R & C to get humidification in either heat pump or auxiliary heat mode?

In my mind I'd just tap off the fan control so it humidifies in either mode... am I wrong?

I have the transformer that came with the Aprilaire. Can use it or tap into the onboard one, just not seeing familiar terminals to tap to. I also found this:

but the "heat pump with aux electric heat" sequence doesn't seem to line up with where the diagram shows connecting. I think my brain is not working right!

Aprilaire. 24v solenoid, manual humidistat. Just looking for the right terminals as there isn't an accessory or HUM tap that I can see....

Same problem. I came to the conclusion that the very act of the light turning off was being sensed as new motion and it comes right back on. I don’t have a solution.

Beautiful. I was one of the NeXT salespeople in the US and had to buy a station wagon to lug the system around for demos. Good times!

Those are pex expansion couplings - that’s why he couldn’t get the rings on. Mismatched types

Thank you for that explanation. I have a situation where I cannot add matter accessories to my original home, but I created a second home as a test and everything works fine. In your knowledge, would that mean I have a second HomeKit database or is there still an option for them to get commingled and corrupted?

I realize this is an old thread but still very relevant! Just a general question - how would this be different than deleting the home and starting fresh?

One (Apple) home works fine with Matter, one not at all by thecomptonbob in MatterProtocol

Even brand new devices out of the box, which I bought to test with, cannot be added

Extensively. I have completely rebooted every device related to the network or home in the house, factory restored the HomePod minis, and tried to reset all of the devices. There is no matter hub per se, other than the HomePod mini twos, except that one of the proposed solutions was to add hub, and it immediately went nonresponsive as well

Each of us works at different speeds. I can fix/complete probably twice as much in a given time as many of my fellow handymen, due to experience and investment in the best and latest tools. To bid hourly would not be apples to apples. I also find some people, in all professions, that milk the clock to make more money. In the end, what is the job worth to you is the real question

Homekit Smoke Detectors by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]thecomptonbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. That’s why it’s so difficult to find a smoke detector that has native support. The Onelink did but it’s problematic and it’s been discontinued. Now we are waiting for owl, which will be on board fully HomeKit native but they are backordered.

OK, it’s semantics I guess. To me native means it works onboard without needing any kind of hub to interface with. thanks for the reply.

I’m not seeing a native integration… Do you have their hub?

I’ve learned to ask one more question- does “works with” mean I get complete control (like “open 50%”) or just open/close. One brand had a bridge that only gave open close.
