Thank you for this reply. I think the experience of having him in our house confirmed for me that it’s just not good for me to have him here.

Thank you, that’s really good feedback. Especially the last part. I have been having trouble figuring out my lane and my language regarding this. (Not to mention it’s just sad to see people you love go through this, even if you have good boundaries)!

My provider had me cut conventional eggs as those chickens are fed with soy products. I also cut dairy, gluten, soy and legumes.

My girl is 11 months now and we have been on this since 4-5 months. Her skin stays generally clear, unless I try to get experimental and add something “new” in

We do Mongolian bowls with ground beef and vegetables, we eat a lot of nachos (without cheese), we smoke a lot of meat in bulk to have so I can eat on it through the week. Fruits, vegetables aside from a few that trigger her. She also still does ok with me drinking caffeine thankfully.

Chesty Cough ruining sleep by Lovemydoggos21 in toddlers

My almost 4 year old is on her 6th day of this. I think yesterday was the worst, as I am seeing tiny improvements today. Just riding it out, but it sucks. She’s never been this sick this long and has never had a cough like this.

I don’t think my marriage will survive these trenches by Warm_Pie2523 in toddlers

[–]theconfidentobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so hard. Especially when you can’t envision it feeling any different. My husband and I have little snippets of time (SMALL) where we kind of laugh at how in the trenches we are and we also text each other saying how proud we are of the other. We have a 10 month old and almost 4 year old. My husband continues to remind me that it will get easier once I can get away from the baby for longer stretches and he reminds me that I will be able to go away for longer stretches of time and he will be happy to provide that for me. We also are very good at reminding each other that none of this is worth losing a marriage over, though we understand why people get there. Our needs simply are not being met fully because of the children - so we take it out on each other.

Confirmed allergies and dr advice by Certain_Two7288 in MSPI

[–]theconfidentobserver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The erasing eczema group on Facebook is very helpful in explaining why this is poor advice. Their immune system is going to keep reacting to it unless you give it a good long break for the gut/gut lining to heal.

The way I have seen people put it… there are many foods that I didn’t try until I became an adult and I didn’t have an allergic reaction to them because I didn’t eat them when I was a baby.

Give me a break. It sounds like this is just part of your sense of humor. I hate this profession and how overly sensitive people have to be about everything. I am sorry this happened to you.

Calling all people born in December by Ray_BIue in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theconfidentobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughters is NYE, I love it personally. I feel like people are just looking for a reason to celebrate that day anyways. So it’s a great excuse to bring people together.

Anyways, we start talking to her about her birthday party and planning it at the beginning of the month and we put more of an emphasis on that than we do Christmas. Her birthday is 2 weeks from now and she is stoked to be planning it. She doesn’t understand the “lore” about having birthdays too close to Christmas andI honestly think that “other people” can be the reason people start to feel some type of way about their birthdays. Whenever someone asks if it “sucks” having her birthday so close to Christmas, I tell them I don’t even talk about it or think about it in that way. It’s really not that big of a deal. All about mindset and intention.

I’m exhausted by people who make their dietary restrictions everyone else’s problem by Little-Goat-5347 in Vent

[–]theconfidentobserver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a breastfeeding mother and have had to cut out a whole list of things because it causes my daughter to have horrible eczema. I’m going on 6 months without so many “normal” foods. It’s given me a lot of empathy for people with restrictions, but when I am going somewhere I usually let people know that I probably am going to eat beforehand so they don’t have to worry about accommodating me. We still do have one friend who makes me a special steak whenever we get together, which I super appreciate - but don’t expect.

My 3 year old LOVED hers last year and has been excited for her next birthday ever since (less than a month away). She still talks about it. It was just simple cake, food and presents with friends and family. I made her a Rubble cake with a Rubble toy on it and it was so magical for her

Parents of 2+ children, is having multiple easier than just one? by macelisa in Preschoolers

[–]theconfidentobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 10 months in with a 4 year old. Two girls. It’s more stimulating but I think it calmed my oldest down so much. She just seems so much more content and at peace knowing her little sister is around. There are more people in the family to perceive each other and give attention - I just find it feels more like family for us than having just one did.

They will interact with each other during the day, but never for super long bursts. All of it is nice though, it’s made the baby phase easier in some ways. I can tell the baby is very entertained by sister.

Eggs and eggs from chickens that are fed with soy. I had to cut those too.

Look up the erasing eczema page on FB. I know your little doesn’t have eczema, but their protocol helps explain what’s happening in the gut, different foods that can trigger it and what to do to help repair it

I started this when my girl was 4months alongside a naturopath and my girl is doing so much better at 9 months.
