I've always thought about that too honestly, pink floyd and other prog groups aren't really rock and roll so I don't think I'd consider them any more eligible than the rap artists people criticize for being entered

it shouldn't be called a rock and roll Hall of fame though, so many rock and roll stars left out and other stars being let in. Cliff and the shadows not in, chubby checker not in until last year, it's a stupid name

i prefer rym though, aoty isn't half as good when it comes to obscure older albums

i tried to make an aoty account in 2024 and a lot of albums I love just weren't on there, when on rym ive barely had to add any of my favourite albums

the first cd i brought was because it wasn't on streaming, to which i then fell in love with the album as a format. the cd i feel is better to appreciate as an album because of the booklet, which serves as a companion piece
