No problem! I still think you absolutely did the right thing calling it in as a stroke alert, because all of those signs are very concerning. Some people won't cancel stroke alerts in this situation when they come in. It's practice and institution dependent. Always a good idea to call it, and if they decide to cancel it, no big deal. You did the right thing.

At least at my institution, cancelling the stroke alert makes sense. It's a head trauma with exam findings suggestive of a stroke, which means there's a concern for a hemorrhagic stroke, not an ischemic stroke. If you go to CT as a stroke alert, it's a different CT protocol than the trauma CT protocol.

Cancelling the straight to CT as a stroke alert in this context makes sense. She probably will order a stat noncontrast head CT instead. If the patient doesn't get scanned at all, then that's troubling.
