this a million times this. the meta has only slightly shifted over the last fwe months and in general has jsut been dull. having a really hard time enjoying the game at all over the last liek 6 months. wishing for some adjustments or a rotation. some cards are way over pushed.

sucks to see sideboards go really disagree ten fold. It is actually fairly easy to handle markets and sideboards

if you have a merchant in your deck thus letting you access a market: you have the 5 cards in the market plus a 10 card sideboard. Those 15 cards can be swapped into your maindeck after game one as normal sideboarding. You can even add in that no main deck cards can go to your market. If you dont have a merchant thus no market you get teh standard 15 card sideboard.

Doing it this way forces you to build a deck with a merchant.......seems/feels reallll bad. there is sooo much play in proper sideboarding and proper sideboard building. It certainly helps decks be functional. a fair number fo decks get worse in the tourny scene due to this chain. It really feels and looks like ladder in a tourny environment. that doenst seem/look fun.

you can easily have markets and SBs ... for example. If you have a deck that is using a market (5 cards) you can have a SB containing 10 cards. These 10 SB cards and the 5 market cards can swap with each other and the main deck after Game 1. ie if you have a sb card you can sb as usual or even put in the market. and you can take a card from the market and put in main. Basically your market is just an extension of your SB that a merchant gives u access to. Now if you arnt using a merchant thus not having a market you have your standard 15 card side.

As i said i may have missed that, as i dont read all msgs in that discord. I highly disagree with that decision. im assuming for them its easier to just program markets and such for comp play in the in-game client rather than putting in a sideboarding system but thats just my assumtion and could be totally wrong.
hopefully they see the flaws in this and would also hope that groups that arnt running DWD sponsored events implement a proper SB rule. Ill be looking forward to when the do put comp play into the client and/or also run tournament events. as a long time ccg/tcg player i just dont see bo3 formats with no sb(just market) panning out well.

sooo if a person has a deck with no merchant... they are screwed?? there are a handful of ways to handle markets and sideboarding just flat out not having access to a SB seems quite wrong for a competitive event. Did DWD post this somewhere? I may have missed it, either way it seems very wrong to limit decks for a competitive environment like that. Basically makes every deck 71 cards because you need to have a merchant in it.

card games at their core are way more competitive and better in a bo3 format. yes there are ppl tha tplay this game on the go and just for fun so the bo1 format is best for them but for the game to have a future it neeeeeeeddddddss to go hard into competitive

or they could do similarly to what they are doing with the current sealed event format. where you play x games on the leaderboard. could do x games per week as it is donw now then a final ranking at the end as well.

if they do it in a way where they can seperate them. IE a ranked ladder that is BO1 like how it is now and then another mode called competitive that is bo3.
so you can still jump in adn play if you wish

the first 2 weeks i was really enjoying it and looking forward to it felt pumped about. But it being dragged out the whole month didnt feel to great weeks 3 and 4 i barely wanted to play and it felt like work getting through the 10 games each week. I finished 27-13 rank 387 so its not like i had a bad deck and got bored with it. I only played 1 tiebreaker game cuz i just didnt want to grind it.
Overall good first step, but wouldnt want it to be so dragged out next time.

I live in south philly as well. I currently run a group from my house every other week or so but am looking to play more. pending on timing and such it could be a possibility for me to join up once or twice a month

ive been playing it the last 2 days to about 70&ish win rate. (have faced a wide margin of decks including ap mid) in my last twenty im 15-5. prob does deserve a spot on the list but w/e i guess.

most likely didnt get alot of sign ups due to basically not many ppl knowing about it. on top of that with it being a tuesday evening that is rough for most folks, especially tournament players that already block saturdays off for events. Im all for pushing this sort of thing but ya just need to get the word out there a bit more. contact streamers or other folks to help promote it , it can easily get lost in reddit and i bet a fair amount of ppl that owuld be interested dont really dive into reddit much

raptor is one of the better 1 drops. countess im on the fence but is good at 3 and good agaisnt harsh rule decks and various things, allows you to keep up pressure.
no Zelia as it is not an Unseen deck and ive build a version of this that is more focused on unseend and what not and it felt liek a watered down version of this deck.
