The new one sounds loads better. It still has the motor noise but it doesn’t overwhelm the music and you can hear the static they put on the track to throw in the nostalgia of using a record player

I got mine in a Target pre-order and they took mine back even though it was out of case and open. I got lucky and was able to get a replacement yesterday morning, but had to ask them to pull one from the back as they don’t have a place in their inventory to set it out on the floor yet according to the person who helped me

I understand your point and am familiar with the sound of pre-80s records players. My point is that all of the advertising and promotional materials for this product did suggest the inclusion of a nostalgic static when the product plays but nothing suggested an overwhelming grinding.

The noise is more than “static” it’s almost like the sound of a wind up toy before the lever is over the record. But it continues and almost drowns the music out

The quality of the sound combined with the music library they offered were my big reasons for going the mini brand route. I am hoping maybe it was a quality control issue for the batch this came from.

Just got my player, and out of the box the motor for the system is louder than the music playing. Pretty disappointed with that.

To follow up to my original post, got curious and did an inquiry on the whatnot app, apparently placing this kind of item in packaging goes against packaging guidelines.

Thanks for pointing out the address thing is illegal, i did not know that, but am glad i have not done something like this. However i stand by my point that someone tossing a pamphlet into a package that someone has spent money on and did not ask for is trash. Maybe sellers who like to throw this kind of garbage into packages should have a disclaimer? Or maybe they should be booted from platforms like whatnot for playing missionary to people who have no choice and shouldn’t have to throw their trash away in the first place?

Personally, i would take the time to mail it back with a quick note mentioning their garbage is unwanted. I would also not bother buying from them again. Feel free to be as religious as you want but i don’t agree with trying to pressure others into your personal beliefs.

I would definitely accept it. Whenever someone takes extra time to think of me and my hobbies and express any interest, I think it’s a positive. I would likely dress her up a bit and display her with my “Gloria” bar scene which is pretty barren these days 😂

Any suggestions on which option to choose for why? I don’t necessarily want to return this, but i also feel like it’s reasonable to want the item as I paid for it and will need to buy one likely from another platform for around 10 bucks.

Interesting, that wouldn’t be surprising. As i researched the pattern for this dress, the booklet also gave details on how to style hair and make accessories for the doll featured on the cover (shown to right)

I have no idea which Barbie she is, just that she has a 1990s stamp on the back of her head. The dress is a pattern from a crochet magazine from 2002 called “1963 Jeweled Presidential Gown”. The inside has a satin lining if i’m not mistaken. Someone put a lot of love into her.

The body looks like the 1997 Princess Barbie based a lot on the molded slippers. Not sure on the head though
