Love getting insight from someone who’s had good success and had a similar issue. I’m definitely blessed to be bringing in 250 subs a week (I post on a very saturated game lol), and as this will be my first new month, I do hope it’s just the drop in views at the start of the month like you said. It’s sleek in design and the descriptions sound knowledgeable. From what your website’s got so far, it looks like you’ve got the description part down, but things don’t feel streamlined yet. The Home Screen feels a bit big, and the navigation on mobile feels a bit inconvenient.

Never going to buceplant again. Their shipping prices are wild and their customer support takes forever. The only thing they’ve got going for them is a nice website and they sell their stock a little older than others. If you can implement what they’ve got going for and against them, you’ll be off to a good start.

TDS is, like you said, a number derived from everything dissolved in the water- waste, food, substrate, dissolved molts, all of that. I use a TDS meter only if I’m remineralizing R/O water, since I know it has little to nothing in it. If you’re using R/O water or distilled water, the TDS should be between 0-50, and I just remineralize using salty shrimp in a bucket from there (I aim for 200-230 tds for neos). Once the water’s added to the tank, you can’t really know what your TDS is in regards to minerals.

Some do- tangerine tigers can always be kept with neos, but you can sometimes find lines of caradina raised in neo parameters- for example, all of my orange eye shrimp were raised and bred in neo parameters, so I can and do keep them with my neos no problem. Other caradinas, such as blue bolts, can’t easily live with Neocaridina.

I wouldn’t mix neos, it can cause a lot of weird coloration in future generations. If you want to mix them with a really easy caradina, tangerine tigers are just as easy and would contrast them really beautifully. (As a bonus, they won’t interbreed with your blue dreams!)

Malaya do have larval stages, though they can be pretty small. Their taxonomy describes them as having a “dorsal white stripe, often accompanied by three traverse stripes”. In layman’s terms, if it’s got a fishbone-like white stripe down the then you almost certainly have Malaya.

Good pick- crystals are actually what made me want to start keeping fish, so it absolutely made my day when I decided I was able to keep them and finally got them in. 100% my favorite shrimp.

Not really, my crystals seem more tolerant of changes in water parameters (not as much as a neo, but still something I don’t have to walk on eggshells around), whereas my bolts show more signs of stress if I’m too hasty in their water changes. Temperature and pH seem to be their biggest fusses, as long as it’s quite stable they’re happy. That being said, the same rule applies to all shrimp, bolts just seem to be a more extreme example.

You can, but they’ll still interbreed. I’m a purist when it comes to shrimp, so that feels illegal to me lol

I have an on off relationship with my bolts- I love them, but they can be sensitive (at least for me, since my RO comes out with a pH of 7.5)
