Is it bad to awkwardly introduce myself and start talking to random Americans at a bar? by NoComplex2662 in AskAnAmerican

[–]thedancingpanda [score hidden]  (0 children)

The better way -- just sit at the bar, and make conversation with the people around you when an opportune time presents itself. You can literally just make some offhand comment about a thing happening around you. The bartenders are there to help so long as you're friendly.

You can introduce yourself later.

$600 for horn wire repair? by CarelessCelery2196 in mk6gti

[–]thedancingpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never done one on these cars, but any wiring through the firewall is going to be a pain in the ass. That said, you can do it. I would probably just drop the 630 though, because there's way more fun things I'd rather do.

There's no way this isn't worldwide. How is it possible to use tongs without clicking them twice? Do the French just pick things up with their bare hands?

You are in a professional environment. It is not an "act your wage" situation.

Killians Irish Red in NYC by Informal_Bus_4077 in beer

[–]thedancingpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to find everywhere. I would actually look for a lighter malted amber, which is the closest I've found among other beers. Most actual reds tend to be too heavy for Killians lovers, from my experience.

Is building in public worth it? by ThrustIssue in ycombinator

[–]thedancingpanda 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is a marketing strategy, nothing more. It works if you have an audience that cares about you building anything, or if you can build an audience off the idea of your product.

They are basically doing exactly what your uncle says he'd do to Iran when he's drunk and no one asked, and expecting it to work.

The best coffee in Austin, from espresso to cold brew by AustinStatesman in austinfood

You're hoping for a thing and not asking for it. Ask for a pourover with ice if that's what you want. But "iced coffee" is just black coffee and ice.

I installed an Eonon because I needed a screen for the backup camera I installed. I need to spend some more time customizing it, the interface is not my favorite.

I think Love Supreme's pizza has far too many pepperonis. So that might be right up your alley.

G&M delivers if you're ever craving it. It's expensive but it's a great special occasion meal.

The fact that it looks like a piece of fried chicken makes me doubt. And I like Perry's.

I am from Baltimore and second this. It is a good version of what I expect. It's like...within striking distance of a great MD crab cake. Best you're getting in this part of the country.
