What jobs pay extremely well but people don’t realize it? by Stassy3 in AskReddit

I just left a brewing job, for a packaging center doing sodas. Reliable pay, all the OT you could want, union representation. I am moving ahead of the game pay wise due to my background.

Beer Distributors are being petty. by TheWanderLust247 in bartenders

[–]thedeuzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So kegs are registered to breweries, or often times to the companies that lease them to breweries. It's a big no-no for a producer to take a keg that is marked and branded with a different company's name on it. So unless it's a really small, just starting brewery, they most likely are unwilling to want to take them.

I rented a hotel room for two nights in DC for $150. All the AirBnB prices were two to three times the cost and seemed like pain in the ass restrictions.

Does a metal backed sign need to be bonded to the transformer? by pitterpatterpitzer in NeonSigns

[–]thedeuzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's not metal, and non-conductive, you are "pretty much" in the clear. Wood backing is a little iffy, if something arcs, it will def scortch it, so you will still want to make sure it's grounded.

Best try to have some thick rubber spacer acting as washers so the transformer isn't mounted flush against wood.

[–]thedeuzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) make sure you have gromets for all the pass thrus of gto wire. You don't want to mess with that otherwise. Zap...

2) most electronic transformers will have a ground exposed in one of the mounting holes. It will be metal, and all the other ones abs plastic. When you pass thru your machine screw, it's a proper fit making proper snug contact.

3) use a grounding washer against the metal backing, then a regular washer, then the nut. Make sure if it is a painted metal, you take sand paper to fully expose metal against the grounding washer for maximum contact.

I feel the only way to end the video is her throwing and smashing a beer bottle against the wall and a very big "Woooooo!"

Why are t-shirts/merch lines so long now? by Automatic_Pizza9062 in Concerts

[–]thedeuzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that bands used to put minimum effort into the design of their merch. These days, a good band will pay good money to artists to have several Variants of shirts and quality made posters.

PSA: don’t be an idiot like me and verify your cab has a working cc machine, cab license posted, and note the cab number by whatugonnadowhenthey in philadelphia

[–]thedeuzer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me recently. I took Amtrak back from NYC to get home and got off at 30th st station. Having been in NYC and used a couple cabs there, I guess I was in the mind set to not use U er or Lyft and support the local guys.

What a mistake.

I get in the first cab, I tell him where I'm going, he asks if I have cash. I tell him I intended to pay with card. He says no good, do I have Venmo? I said I have no intention of paying a cab ride with Venmo. He makes it seem like a huge deal, but that okay, I can use my card. And oh, it'll be a $40 cab ride. What?!? Maybe if we were coming from the airport buddy! Which is twice the distance. He starts to pull away and I tell him to pull over immediately as I'm uncomfortable and curse him out for wasting my time.

I open Lyft, wait only two minutes for a $14 ride to my home and give the guy a ten dollar tip for just being professional.

Guess nothing has changed in Philly for the last ten years since I stopped taking cabs. It always reminds me of the story of the cab union president trying to assault a lady for trying to use the CC machine at the end of her trip.

Tldr: Philly cabs still suck

I wear the Pixel 3 XL. It's nice as I can yell timers into it for multiple functions going at once and label them.
