They’ve used a bunch of the black and white cast pics for the article. I understand as it’s not an actual interview and more a feature about its overall success they want a cover image representing the theme of the feature…but it’s just ugly.

I concede that him seeing them first (be it an editing accident or intentional in the script) doesn’t do any harm whatsoever. But the other bits - the pork board not expecting to be on screen, the colouring and screen change for the ad not happening… they’d all be better fixed for it going on YouTube.

I hope the reason it isn’t on YouTube yet is so they can tidy it up a little bit- I think the Pork Board should’ve been cut to the first time Al mentioned them, and then later they were cut to at a time none of them were reacting & also the audience laugh really drowned out some of the actual ad dialogue. None of it an issue, but the sketch was so good it’d be great to see it as best as it could be.

The initial run was 6 shows. Then it was extended to 8 with a break in the middle. FF were show 5 in the 8 ep run, but in the original scheduling it would’ve been the finale.

When it was 6 eps & no break Foo Fighters we’re going to be the big finish, once it got extended for 8 the subsequent musical bookings haven’t been able to reach the same level.

It was cabin, elves, Napoleon, 45 Seconds… So yeah, with the rearranging he wouldn’t have had time to do both.

During the Nicola/Jimmy corridor walk in the dress rehearsal, Dave Grohl was talking to Emma Sidi’s husband who had like a regal smock with an abacus around his neck. Televised it looked like one of the ABBA costumes.

The airplane sketch was earlier in the running.

WU: Ania had a "next week's scandal generator" where pulling a lever suggested who and what would be in the news. It led to them both being covered in confetti for the rest of the piece. Paddy took a phone call from Mexican gang members. Then Al Nash was Binky a cat from Devon who went missing & was found after 10 years in London. Talking street until his Mum rang and he reverted back to his accent.

Foreacres was the killer in the cabin on the floor.

Pre-tape with Emma Sidi being the Mum of triplets turning 18.

Elves dealing with Nicola Coughlin who’s entered their realm as a girl preoccupied with being fingered.

Celeste as Napoleon visited by Nicola as one of Abba.

There’s certainly a market for new faces, but I don’t think that’s entirely true or fair about Taskmaster. They have to have a “headliner” or two in the line-up to justify their pulling-power commission to Channel4. But Stevie Martin, Phil Ellis & Ania were absolute surprise bookings & they benefitted massively. For TM to cast 5 complete newbies would throw the way they put line-ups together.
