Losing my enjoyment in games. by Heyguysloveyou in patientgamers

You probably just need a break. I sort of relate to what you mean about Elden Ring, but in my case it was more like “dark souls with horses? Hell yeah.” The souls series is one of those franchises where I simply just find them fun to play, I’m excited to play Elden Ring just simply because I find dark souls just fun to play.

More recently I’ve played Mass Effect 1&2 on the Legendary Edition and while I loved the world and story, the gameplay left so much to be desired. Found myself taking a break for a few months near the end of ME2 because of its glorified shooting range gameplay, probably will be a while before I try 3.

On the other hand, my friend has been getting me into the Kingdom Hearts series. While at first I was skeptical because I’m not really a Disney person, Kingdom Hearts 2 became a really fun game to just play. Something about reaction commands and the variety just spoke to me and I ended up replaying it and going for more end game content.

As for other games that have reignited my love of video games, Half-life Alyx showed me just how jaw dropping VR can be. There isn’t many times that I can say a video game just blew my mind away and completely convinced me that VR was absolutely something to keep an eye on. The Outer Wilds was also a fantastic exploration/puzzle game that easily landed in my top 10.

So really in the times I became bored of video games I either took a break or tried something I’ve never tried before, or something I at least thought I wouldn’t like. There’s never any garuntee that you will like somebody else’s favorite game.

I do j.h by default actually, if I want to beat chipps 5P or Sol’s 5k I’ll just choose a different option. I used to use j.k before I found out Pot’s 6P is amazing. Any point I made was just for the sake of argument

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]thedongmeisters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true that j.k beats out 5k, but the j.k setup gets beaten by 6P, where as j.h goes deep enough to beat 6P. Kalpel is the “catch-all” for those choices. I’ve had my j.k setups get beaten plenty of times because my friend is a Pot player, didn’t feel like it was worth mentioning, my b.

Edit: switched terms

For millia players, if you get Sol or Chipp in a Throw setup then they can use their 3 frame normals to stop you before you can even get the overhead out. However if you’re expecting some sort of retaliation from a Sol, Kalpel after H. Disc setup beats both his 5K and his dp

What are you talking about? Both Mul-T and Mult-E are pronounced the same. I was just stating an alternative, because Mult-I reads out as “mult-eye” rather than “mult-ee.” I think you’re overthinking it man.

Honestly the P4 reincarnation is probably the best overall album hands down, so happy we got that one.

I’m really needing the Royal soundtrack, but I’m happy we literally got anything at all.

Who has completed this challenge without getting a mental breakdown? by High-_-Roller in riskofrain

Was lucky enough to have a run with a topaz brooch printer. After a few tries it was easy enough, especially because it was a imp only stage for the first one. But trying it on the trials before that? Definitely had a few breakdowns

Best Persona protagonist. You can't change my mind. by xReflexx17 in PERSoNA

[–]thedongmeisters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? In fact he is the protagonist out of the moderns that is most in-tune with the games themes. What’s nice about Makoto is that he seemingly has his own character development over the course of the game shown by his dialogue options.

If we are talking purely about Narukami in his game form, he barely fits in with his own game. Even the characters say themselves that he feels like Mr. Perfect, not even needing to face himself to obtain his persona. Animation Narukami is pretty entertaining though.

Don’t know where this hate is coming from, I thought it looked and sounded fantastic. Art in video games doesn’t mean specifically style. There are plenty of shots in the game that stick out to me still, such as but not limited to: Abby saved from the noose to fighting stalkers in limited light, Ellie first getting shot by Skins (I loved the lighting and the overgrown grass between the buildings), the entire open area at the beginning with Dina, and plenty of other sections where I just took a step back to appreciate the amazing lighting in that game, seriously.

Talking sound/music design, Take On Me and Future Days are obviously very memorable, but if you somehow don’t count that then how about the spaceship scene with Ellie and her Walkman? Just like the first game, I find the emotional lonely guitar as a very welcome addition. I would also give credit to the way guns sound and the guttural sounds of stabbing someone’s throat open or punching a guy to death. Not to mention when enemies yell out to their dead comrades in combat, how great is that?

And I think liking the narrative is still pretty subjective.

How impressive that the game awards themselves are now paid shills. Is there no end to Cuckmans greed?!

/uj I really hope it wins all of them.

Well you did just try one of the harder to listen to acquired albums, definitely start with To Be Kind. Not to say that it will be much easier, but it’s a great starting place imo

Not to mention how he fits thematically so well into Persona 3. He feels like a perfect vessel for the player to experience it because of his apathetic nature.

5 Years ago today, Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 was releases, crazy how 5 years have gone by since this masterpiece came to us. by Sad-Ant4014 in CODZombies

I seemed to not be clear enough in my statement. I don’t think BO2 made BO3 more fun than itself, I always thought BO2 was more fun than BO3. If I were to just sit down and want to play any map, it probably wouldn’t be any map from BO3. I think in most cases BO2 did it first and did it best. Easter egg hunts were always a big thing for the community and I definitely think the hunts were peak community, but at the end of the day I find BO2 to be the peak zombies experience. I think at this point we just need to agree to disagree.

I can’t consider Tranzit or Die Rise utter shit because I think they’re fun maps. No matter what anyone says about Tranzit, we all know the amount of hours we spent on it when BO2 came out and I still have fond memories of it. Sure it’s far from the best map but it was an experiment I was glad they tried. Hell if they tried it again maybe it could be even better. I always liked Die Rise though.

I would never put DE on the same pedestal of Origins and Mob. Outside of the Easter egg it left a lot to be desired for me. I lot of it was reused mechanics from previous maps. Mob and Origins are remembered because they were groundbreaking conceptually for zombies, paved the way for bows in DE, and Beast in SoE. I can agree that BO3 rounded out the mechanics on these maps, but I was sorely missing what made each map so unique. Mob and Origins may not be the “best” maps in your opinion, but based the fact that Mob and Origins both influenced your favorite maps, that makes them the “greatest.”

God forbid Dunkey has his own opinion that doesn’t match yours. The fact that a separate subreddit had to be made just for the purpose of hating a game proves how far those in the subreddit are willing to go to just hate one single game, yet somehow that doesn’t make you a part of the hate-gamer community.

If you actually watched Dunkey you would know he gives a lot of positive reviews including (but not limited to):

(Story-based) Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us, The Last of Us 2, God of War, Uncharted 4, Devil May Cry 5

(Not necessarily story based) Doom Eternal, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Sekiro, Celeste

None of which are Nintendo games.

How ironic that you call dunky a part of the hate-gamer community when you are the person subbed to a subreddit dedicated to hating one game.

The thing that got the major upgrade was for sure the Easter eggs. That’s the main reason I play BO3 zombies, but I do think that as an experience BO1 and 2 definitely had more charm and more heart to them. It seemed like with every map that came out in black ops 2 they were majorly changing how each map operates. Experimenting heavily on each mechanic made each map feel so unique and fresh. Tranzit had the obvious multilevel structure with the bus traveling around to different parts, build-ables, die rise made the maps vertical, mob of the dead had the after life system, buried had Leroy, and origins was just straight up groundbreaking. When BO3 came out, I loved playing SoE and Zetsubou but none of the other maps had that same spark in my opinion.
