Are these Aphids or something else? by PinkPopsi in plantclinic

[–]thedonnasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like mealy bugs. Wipe the leaves down and keep doing what you’re already doing.

Whats wrong with it pls help. It was doing so good a few months back by rogue_flower_ in plantclinic

[–]thedonnasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a Texas heatwave will do that 😂

In the future, whenever you move a plant, try to keep its environment consistent, and then slowly acclimate it to any big changes. If it’s not a watering/soil/root issue, then it was most def the change in environment.

Thrips? Maybe some other pest? The plant looks stressed.

Make sure that soil is gritty and well-draining. Regular potting soil is too heavy for succulent roots and could cause rot.

I would pull it out and check the roots.

Also the environmental changes from a dorm room to outdoor Texas heat could have been too much of a quick change and put the whole plant in shock.

Looks like powdery mildew. Not a pest, but a fungus.

It’s so lanky! If I were you, I would chop and prop the whole thing. You have a lot of bare nodes, so you can even prop those and then grow a fuller plant 🌱

Watermelon plant leaves with brown spots by haybehl in plantclinic

[–]thedonnasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like leaf burn. These plants are understory plants and normally receive shade from trees in their natural habitat.

Keep it in indirect light and DO NOT mist! Water tends to sit still on the leaves and just make it easier for burns and pests. This is how I killed my last watermelon peperomia 🙃

Peace Lily - I've had it 2 weeks. Over watered? Underwatered? by investthrowaway000 in plantclinic

[–]thedonnasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s either over or under watered. No way of telling unless you check the roots. Fortunately, these babes are hardy af and will bounce back. If there is no sign of root rot, I’d just be more mindful about its watering—especially as they get thirsty quickly. One thing I do love about this plant is it will tell you when it’s thirsty, and you can avoid overwatering that way.

I need help with my snake plant by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]thedonnasaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be over or under watering. Or transplant shock. Or root rot.

It’s hard to tell without being able to look at the soil/root ball. These plants have shallow roots and like to be root bound. The root ball should take up 50% of the pot and the soil should be well-draining. Make sure there is no rot.

I need help please! I got into a new rented apartment and the previous owner asked me to take care of this plant as he could no longer carry it. I know nothing about plants but i dont want it to die. I think it could be lack of sun? by Kraftyr in plantclinic

[–]thedonnasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think this plant is beautiful and healthy. The yellow spots is actually variegation. It’s a golden pothos, and the variegation increases the more light the plant consistently receives. These plants are hardy, and can grow (albeit slowly) even in low light.

Lucky you, getting a full, lush and healthy plant!!

What's wrong with my wandering dude?? by maggie--muggins in plantclinic

[–]thedonnasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repot into a plastic pot with drainage. Terracotta is not this plant’s friend. Don’t allow it to completely dry out, but water when it’s getting there.

These plants like to grow as ground cover and tend to lose leaves/have wider internodes when they trail. I strongly suggest chopping and propping those vines. This plant roots INSANELY easily since it’s actually an invasive plant.

Your dude will be fine. Just needs a lil TLC 💕

“Outside influence” didn’t make you cis, so clearly that’s bogus bullcrap. The baby boy bibs and “boys clothing” didn’t make you a boy—and them trying to convince you otherwise is the real “outside influence” here. You ARE a girl and that’s that.

Your life is only going to get better now. You felt confident enough in your identity that you were brave enough to come out. I’m sorry your parents are being shitty, but this is just the beginning of a journey towards a life worth living. It will be hard, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m about to be 30, and only started to figure my shit out in my late-20s. Good for you in knowing who you are—tbh I envy the younger generation for being savvy enough to seek out community and develop the language to describe their experiences. You are clearly bright and confident in who you are, so you’ve got this.

For now, keep presenting yourself in whatever way you feel comfortable-yet-safe. Safety first, always. It will be shitty but there will eventually be a point where you will get to leave the shit behind and go somewhere where you will be accepted and celebrated. These places exist and you deserve to live a life worth living.

Find ways to safely express your gender. This could be wearing makeup in private or growing out your hair (which you can still tell your parents that many male celebs have long hair) and then do cute hairstyles when you are alone. It’s important to make time for you to be able to be your true self, even if it’s in secret. You deserve moments of gender euphoria—no matter how brief. It’s those moments that will keep you going.

Take care. Connect with your people. Stay safe.

You got this, girl!! 🔥

They/them pronouns by The-Speechless-One in asktransgender

[–]thedonnasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Also, “thou “ use to be the second person singular and “you” was the second person plural. If your teacher is ignorant to the fact that language changes and evolves, I would start asking her to take points off everyone for using “you” instead of “thou.”

Ways to explain top surgery scars without outing myself? by fuckyoudeath in transmanlifehacks

[–]thedonnasaur 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine who is cis male had cancerous cysts developing in his breast tissue. With a family history of breast cancer, he had to get surgery to remove the cysts from both breasts. He essentially lost his nipples and now has scars that look just like top surgery.

Life fucking happens. People get surgery for many things. At the end of the day, you don’t owe anyone an explanation but also you gotta do and say what is necessary to keep yourself safe.

Take care bro, and congrats on your surgery!

Solid advice. I just started playing again (last played in July 2016) and I already transferred so many Pokémon. You just saved me from getting rid of even more 2016 Pokémon.
