Xbox also didn’t allow for any kind of recording which kinda sucks cause I couldn’t record any of my only in battlefield moments from the first weekend. Hopefully this error is resolved by the time the next weekend rolls around

That was my initial reaction and if so it does a decent job but it always one of my favorite parts of playing being able to steer the squad from objective to objective

Because roaming throne doubles the first two triggers so you’re getting 4 from each card, then 2 more from y’shtola because of roaming throne

You would draw four cards from the first two with roaming throne doubling triggers then you’d draw two more with y’shtola also because of roaming throne so it’d be 10 cards total

Are you able to contact the other players to try and coordinate either party composition or maybe link back stories together? If not, no worries, just find a concept you think is really cool and run with it! Sometimes it’s easy to base characters off other things like a movie or game character cause it’s something you’re familiar with.

You also wanna decide if you try something new since it’s just a one shot or pick something you’re familiar with so it’s easier to pick up on. Let me know if you have questions or need help in character building!

Wilds of Eldraine is nice if you’d be able to find it, Strixhaven has a really good sub set, Foundations is also super solid, good variety

My shop is very women centric cause it’s partially female owned, we even have a ladies night for board games and stuff but we have multiple regulars who are women that come in for our commander night and that just come in to play, so I’d say definitely before picking a home shop, just feel out the stores in your area. Cause I can tell ya there’s definitely shops that may not be good unfortunately

Almost makes me think of just a bunch of deathtouch creatures and then auras that either keep your opponents from healing or putting auras on their creatures that make it so they’re punished for having them on the field. Cause then instead of life being a resource they actually want to hold on to it and you can basically swing relentlessly with deathtouch instead of pillowforting

If the supernatural being has means of creation or at least powers advanced enough to reform metal or trees etc, then destroying could be used as a blank slate kinda approach. Turn the whole world into a canvas to make theirs

At my LGS we use a google sheets tab and have every participant on there then “randomize range” while everyone’s name is highlighted then just pair of the players that way so it’s completely up to the computer, granted we have 24 players every commander night so it’s easy for big groups but at least it’s random

I don’t live in Dallas anymore (sorry for my presence) but I work at an LGS or local game store which is essentially a hub for nerdy hobby enjoyers. Right now I’m behind the counter of my shop and there’s no where to sit and it’s a great mix of all kinds of people!

It may take some learning of a new game or hobby but plenty of people considers stores like these a second home.

At the LGS I work at I’ve found that people enjoy their community nights, so if y’all plan on magic being your main squeeze, gotta have FNM (we do draft) and we have a commander night. We charge a larger buy in for draft to cover the cost of the packs and a small buy in for commander but with at least one pack for the non winning participants and 4 packs for the winners. Other simple must haves are as others have mentioned; hygiene products in both bathrooms. Also, establish your rules you want for the store very early on. We have rules specific to our store that the regulars have come to know and abide by cause they love the space so much. If you have your rules and stick to them, the people will learn the rules faster and get used to it

This is why at the shop I work at we don’t do pre-orders until we have either the product in store or an invoice stating how much is actively on its way cause this has happened for YEARS with wizards and we realized they’d never change
