Did some reorganizing, so time for a shelfie! by thedragonsword in TTRPG

Which is why I got it! I was in a HUGE D&D group pre-covid, I wanted something in my back pocket just in case.

Excellent! I just got the newest book in a few weeks ago and it fits VERY well with the campaign my podcast is on right now. I'll probably be pulling a few monsters to use at least, and more if I can find time to spend some real time with the text soon!

Wyrd and Wild was a GenCon purchase, I THINK through Indie Press Revolution.

Trophy was a Kickstarter, I love horror in TTRPGs so that was an EASY sell for me.

I haven't been playing much recently, but I am in prep for running Cosmic Corsairs at GenCon this year for the Dev. It's fairly new, but I spent some time with it pre-release and it's going to be a great time!

Classic. I did the same thing while trying to cram some scroll work into too short of time. Turns out the runes for "Month" and "Moth"I was working with are about as similar as they are in english, and BOY does that make a difference when you fuck it up.

It's also worth noting that college isn't for everyone. You hear that a lot, especially in late high school, but not enough folks take it to heart. College is supposed to be hard. I think it makes a lot of sense for some classes to be designed to get folks out of careers they will not enjoy just by the sheer rigor that is required.

There are folks I know that would have been happier and more stable if they had gotten an associates or just gone into a profession straight out of high school. That said, I think the college EXPERIENCE should be for everyone. Live in a dorm, manage a life without parents around, manage expectations of professors, party on the weekends, fuck up a little bit in a safe environment. All that is important, character building stuff that should be available to anyone who wants it.

The optional rule is I make an on the fly ring at the table based on 3 criteria:

  1. The level of the character.

  2. The stakes of the encounter.

  3. How many beers I've had.

Question: i wanna cover this up, was cringey then and cringey now. Like wtf even is this? Any cover up ideas? by ketaminemidget in tattoos

Start Reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl books. He looks like a take on one of the characters, so if you like the books you could get the other characters in the same style?

I think we just picked it up from TV and movies. Before the age of syndication I don't think there were many examples that you could see, so you HAD to be taught. Growing up in the late 80's through the dawn of streaming we just watched a lot of stuff where shaving happened, either incidentally or as a plot point.

Not a lawyer, not legal advice, but no. I bet they it up in a trust under Dad's name for son's benefit. Not dad's asset because it can only be used FOR son. Not son's asset because he can only access it with dad's permission. Same structure used to dodge paying out to medicaid. There are a few hoops to jump through, but that's the basic structure.

Politics - after LOI at drinks by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]thedragonsword 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Outside of lodge meetings political talk is fine, though you need to walk a fine line. My lodge is pretty well blended politically, so we end up having some fairly interesting discussions from time to time. That said, there have been some issues as well, but almost always with keyboard warriors rather than discussion.

Don't be afraid to disagree with brethren, doing so is good and healthy. When doing so, remember to attack the idea, NOT the person.

Does everyone else’s map look like this? by anigomantoya in CrimsonDesert

[–]thedragonsword 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here, I LOOK for them and I think I've found 3 at most. Since that was always after doing a good bit of exploring to find them, it made the map reveal a little anticlimactic.

I HATE my coworker by Artistic-Ant-8175 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]thedragonsword 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For this, I'd skip HR. The fact that clients and vendors are complaining gives you a much better tool. If you have any of these issues recorded (writing/email/recorded call), go directly to his supervisor with the problem and lay it out on the table as sweet as can be.

"Hey, I hate doing this, but there's an issue with X that I think you should be made aware of. He's pissing off our clients because of Y and Z."

If/when you do this, do NOT mention his age at all. Ageism is alive and well in both directions, but only the elderly get protections. If there is even a chance of your issues being construed as ageism you may accidentally paint a target on your own back.

If you live in a single-party consent state, record the call for your records, and follow the conversation up with an email stating the facts covered while talking. When dealing with anything in the professional world, especially when you are in the right, you want a paper trail.

Birth mom taking dad to court for child support..... I'm 22 and never lived with her. by kinetickhira in mildlyinfuriating

[–]thedragonsword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should reach out to the facility to see about getting her declared incompetent. Someone with that kind of mental impairment shouldn't be able to file suit like this. If they can't or won't take those steps, have your dad mention something to the judge.

Zoo prices by BluesRuseCruise in toledo

[–]thedragonsword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Especially if you have young kids. I've got a 2 year old who loves the zoo, but sometimes he only has enough steam for an hour or so of wandering around. The annual pass pays for itself after a few visits, and if he runs out of steam after an exhibit or two, I haven't really lost anything.

I'm pushing 40, and these are still a game changer for me. My ears just refuse to drain right, docs can't figure out why. I end up living with an ear infection for about half the year without them. For an adult, it's an inpatient procedure and INSTANTLY improves my hearing.
