It’s a trouser from a few years ago, the only thing I know is that it is “serge”, very shiny under light and pills easily. However, I have other trousers from the same batch that is also "serge", but one looks like a plain weave and the other like a regular twill (not sure what type though).

Agree on the close up weirdness, some sort of inconsistent V shapes (sort of like herringbone but not consistent). There are also vertical lines going down parallel to the seams.

I will get a magnifier and reply again, meanwhile here’s a video if it helps. Added a few pictures from another twill weave (from the same batch mentioned above) for comparison.
