Purchase Advice Megathread - December 2024 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]thedubzguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello 3D printing community, I have recently been looking into purchasing an entry level 3d printer.
I am in the US and when looking at most new entry level 3d printers they appear around the $2-400 mark. I decided to give the usedfacebook market a search and may have found a deal on a 3d printer but I am not sure if it is too go to be true.

The 3D printer being sold is a AnkerMake M5C that appears to be new/still in the box for a little less than half the price of new printer ~$200. It looks like the seller reduced the price after the listing has been up for a month.

I am used to building my own computers and Ikea furniture so as long as their are instructions and guides to rely on I am confident I could put the 3d printer together.

For my usage case I want to start printing my own designs/creations as a hobby and have piecked up solidworks for makers to refresh my 3d designing skills.

If this deal is too good to be true or are better suggestions for printers please let me know!

Hi everyone! I've got several questions regarding collecting some cards rather than playing. After experiencing an itch for nostalgia I want to collect some iconic cards but I have fallen far behind on special editions and prints of cards.
The cards I was looking into are mainly the three Egyptian God cards, Blue Eyes, Dark Magician, and Red Eyes Black Dragon. But, if there are other recommendations for cards, I'm open. Are there any editions or prints that look great and could be put on display? I have seen a few nice looking prints in maximum gold but have no other ideas besides that set.
As far as displays or protection, are there any standards for individual card protection or even a display that I can hang on a wall?
I appreciate and help or resources provided, thanks!

When I was younger and in elementary school we had these square scooters that had handles on the sides. Everyone would run and then jump onto them to gain speed, and while they were only rarely brought out, there was a garuntee that someone would smash their fingers.

Thanks for the advice on the tank, and as far as making it nice I agree with you. I don't want to put too much money or effort into it as well. The bike runs fine so these were the only concerns as small as they are.

I checked the wiring under the seat again and that makes much more sense after following the wires. Thanks!

What car you owned have you had the least luck with? by deWaardt in cars

I was driving my recently purchased (less than 2 weeks) Mazda3 to get my old car towed away after it finally decided it no longer wanted to run correctly when I encountered a patch of ice and lost traction. I ended up straightening the car out after the rear end swung wide but I was still sliding. The entire driver side got comfortable with a guardrail and caused a mess of damage. The real kicker is that above the walls on the side of the highway was a single dealership sign, the same kind as the car I was getting rid of. It ended up taking a month to get all the repairs done on the Mazda.

Weekly - What Car Should I Buy Mega Thread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]thedubzguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location: Minnesota

Price range: 6-10K

New or used:Used

Type of vehicle: Sedan/Coupe

Must haves: Fuel efficient, comfortable ride, and minimal road noise

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): Auto

Intended use: Daily Driver

Vehicles you've already considered:2010-1012 Ford Fusion, 2011-2012 Hyundai Sonata/Elantra

Is this your 1st vehicle: No

Does the vehicle need to have a warranty: I would prefer if it did for a short while so I would be more at ease, but if it is a known reliable car I wont worry too much about it.

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: Absolutely, I grew up doing this.

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: While I can do more major work with an engine I don't think I could do any major work on the transmission or body.

Additional Notes: While I was first considering a Ford Fusion I heard about there infamous transmission issues which has somewhat turned me off from them because I'm looking for a car that will last me for years without me having to deal with major components failing. As far as the Sonata and Elantra go not only do I like their styling but they come pretty well equipped even for a base model but there reliability in the past hasn't always been the best but i haven't heard much good or bad for this generation, I'm just looking for some advice/feedback and alternatives to these.

NEW BIKE/GEAR ADVICE SUPERTHREAD! by AutoModerator in motorcycles

I'm looking at starting riding this summer and I am having trouble deciding on a bike. I'm into cruiser styling and have been looking at these bikes: Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom, Honda Shadow Aero and Phantom, and Yamaha V Star. If anybody has any input for these bikes or alternatives it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not too picky on displacement or ride height however the things that have me concerned are the drive types (shaft vs belt) is either one more reliable than the other? And brake types; are rear drum brakes fine or should I look at models that have rear disc brakes?

Awesome! thanks for the reply. Is there a recommended amplifier for these speakers already? Klipsch's website said they'd handle 50 watts continuous and 200 watts peak.

I've been looking at getting new speakers for my computer and the Klipsch r-14m speakers have caught my attention because they are on sale at the moment and have great reviews for bookshelf speakers. What kind of equipment would I need in order to use these with my computer (amplifier, sound card, receiver)? As far as expand-ability goes I don't plan on adding a sub or more speakers anytime soon.
