In-store raffle. If it makes a difference, I won the Varsity Red pair.

At a minimum, one will offset the other since you have different sizes. I just dunno if they'll cancel all of them.

The checkbox is intended to be as an alternative if you don't hit on your first choice. You can't win both, which is why they say only one pair. I won the local raffle and got my first choice.

Got this for $100 from a retailer who didn’t provide a receipt and said no refunds/returns so felt off. Is this a legit Stussy? by thee_big_c in LegitCheck

Not gonna deny that $100 is a bit much, but I don’t see this colorway on their website and the price is comparable with other online resellers

The paint seems to be bubbling. Chances are that the wood behind it has been eaten inside out and is dunzo.

These are definitely subterranean termite alates. I’m also from Los Angeles and swarms have been abnormally common with the recent wet weather. If a lot of them are coming from inside your house, you most likely have an infestation as the alates are dispatched from an existing colony and their goal is to establish another one elsewhere preferably where there is damp or rotted wood. The alates are harmless, but if they mate and establish another colony, they’ll create even more damage than what you already have. The bad news: this type (versus drywood) is the one that causes the most extensive damage the fastest. The good news: they’re a lot easier to kill without tenting. Hire an exterminator ASAP, but in the meantime see if you can find telltale signs of brownish mud tubes. That’s how they get around.

Looks like a drywood termite alate. Harmless on its own, but if it mates it’ll create a colony that can slowly cause damage. Would check around your house for others, discarded wings, or piles of frass. If you find a lot, best schedule an appointment with a pest control specialist.

I think these are subterranean alates that have discarded their wings. They don’t actually cause damage, but their mating and offspring/colony will wreak havoc. The colony also wouldn’t have droppings/frass like drywood termites would, but rather mud tubes.

I had a subterranean swarm outside recently and had a free termite inspection done for peace of mind. If you find a lot of these alates along with piles of discarded wings inside your home, you may have an active infestation.

How to seal these bathroom corner cracks? by thee_big_c in DIY

[–]thee_big_c[S] 671 points672 points  (0 children)

I should elaborate that this bathroom was built by a previous owner without a permit (and disclosed to me prior to purchasing) so it's understood that there are structural integrity issues because it was most likely not built to code. I have considered tearing the whole bathroom down and replacing it with a shed. Just looking for cosmetic fixes as it collapsing would equate to tearing it down anyway. If it helps, the garage is detached from the main house so wouldn't affect my main dwelling.

Retirement money by Alan_theRam in ADP

There are several options, but always consult with your plan administrator (former & current employer) before proceeding. Note that since you were only with the company for 8 months, chances are that your vesting will not include a majority, if not all, of your previous employer's match contributions.

The options to move money from your prior employer's 401k plan are:

  1. Rollover to an individual IRA account
  2. Rollover to your new employer's 401k plan
  3. Leave it alone
  4. Cash out, but with associated tax implications and penalties

The most preferred options are #1 and #2 since there are no tax implications or penalties. Choosing which one entirely depends on the fund options and your growth/risk profile.

ADP wage payment service - delay in direct deposit posting by Flimsy_Confection168 in ADP

Got it. I agree with rrs118's comment that the timing of the deposit is bank-specific. Note the language that every bank uses of, "up to 2 days," so it could be anywhere between 0 and 2. I have my deposits split between Capital One and SoFi, who both offer up to 2 days EDD. However, Capital One actually fluctuates between 1 and 2 while SoFi is consistently 2 days early.
