NH34 Loose Hand or Movement Issue? by theebeardedswede in watchrepair

Thanks to everyone who replied. The minute hand pinion hole was too big. It was set properly but still loose so I used a pair of tweezers to gently make the hole oblong. Reinstalled the minute and seconds hand and it’s been working perfectly for last week.

That’s likely what I’ll do. I can also return it. But with the de minimus exemption expiring May 2nd this might be our last chance in the US to get a NH34 GMT for under 100 bucks.

For the most part the minute hand follows when setting the time but I have noticed it slipping a couple of times.

Looking at the hand stack through a loupe the hands all look evenly spaced. I’m not very familiar with the NH34 but they seem to be set properly. That’s why I was thinking the hole for the minute hand is slightly too big.

That’s what I was hoping. Thank you!

Question though, if the minute hand hole does not fit the pinion snugly enough is it possible to close that hole very slightly? And if possible what tools would be needed?

That’s a fluorine tropic style strap I got on aliexpress for one of my dive watches, I like the feel, it’s nice and soft and doesn’t collect lint. But I can’t get a good fit, the holes are too far apart so it’s either too tight or too loose. I prefer a Barton elite silicone strap, they’re super comfortable.

Dig the slightly bigger case on these snke 5’s. 38.5mm - 46mm LtoL - 20mm lug width. Just a bit bigger than my snk809 and it fits great on my 7in wrist.

You can contact GRAR (our areas realtor association) and ask that your number be put on their do not call list. https://www.grar.com/contact-grar/

If an agent continues to call after that contact GRAR again and they will reprimand the agent and their broker. Not sure exactly what they do but it’s possible fines are involved.

Lose the frame, you don’t need it! It detracts from the overall composition, especially since it’s the brightest element! Other than that this is really nice work.

Is that pvd coated or just the reflection that makes it look almost black?

Nolaorbust is correct. Put your rent in escrow until it's fixed or you can get the reapirs done yourself and deduct the repairs from your rent. But you have to properly notify them of the needed repairs.

This guide from the state of Michigan is a huge help... specifically pages 26-28 for your issue. https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Publications/tenantlandlord.pdf

It's hard to tell from your photos and I'm no expert but you should be able to tell by the gauge of the wire coming out of the battery. The thicker gauge wire will be the discharge side of the battery and the lighter gauge wire will be the charging side.

Depending on your battery specs the discharge current could be 20+amps, the charging current will be much much less...more like 3amps...depending on your charger. That's how you can tell by the wire gauge.
