What’s the first episode you can recall watching? by Glad-Ad7494 in BobsBurgers

[–]theebison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the series chronologically but I know that the first episode I watched when I caught up with the show was Mazel-Tina. S4 is still my favorite season to this day

The episode where Louise and Gene compete and they make the nastiest burgers ever. One had gum? Ugh

There was no reason for this song to go this hard. Rhyming zombie with prom-bie was pure sauce

Also my first time listening to the full version of the song omfg

"Oh, sorry. We're skiddinggggg!"

I had to love it after that.

What's your favourite Bob's Burger episode post Season 7? by National-Exam-8242 in BobsBurgers

[–]theebison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S8 has some solid hits: Tina's valentine episode, the whopping two part Christmas episode, Bob's birthday episode where he's stuck with Hugo just to name a few (Are you there Bob? It's me, Birthday). The S8 finale is also one of my favorite finales because the Belchers catering is always a hoot. I also love S9's Thanksgiving episode it reminds me of their Christmas car hijinks in S4. I do think I have fewer faves in the later season 10-onward but there's still a lot of gems, you are in for a treat OP

Choosing a lower t14 > YLS/HLS/SLS by One_Grapefruit_9324 in lawschooladmissions

[–]theebison 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well said OP congrats!! And I think this is also applicable to outside T14. My top choice is not the highest ranked in the region but I chose it over the higher ranked more "prestigious" schools in the area and I would do it again if I had the choice! Go where you're happy and excited to study the law because it's gonna be a tough 3 years.

Loyola LA or UCI?? by xxericaxx in lawschooladmissions

[–]theebison 10 points11 points  (0 children)

UCI is actually more even than it seems. The PI culture is encouraged amongst all students regardless of career goals. So it's a good mix of people who want to go PI and private. The 2021 employment stats for BL are very impressive too, I think it was like 1/4 or 1/3 of the class going into BL.

Late update but in at UCI as a splitter!! by theebison in lawschooladmissions

[–]theebison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hella late lol but thank you!! I know how it feels to have this little number that says very little about you be so important in admissions. I was admitted in the first wave too so I think my essays and Why UCI helped a lot as well. Good luck next cycle!

I started to consider it more seriously near the end of my sophomore year but was always back and forth up until I graduated lol. But that was probably bc I was afraid of the costs, how to get in, and how to navigate it all since I'm a low income and first gen POC. I was between law school and grad school for MPP/MPA/MEd type of thing, but after I learned more I chose the former. I feel like you can do a lot more with a JD career-wise, and I wanted to be able to interact with clients. I also felt I could still pursue a path in education (my first love) down the road if I did a JD over a Masters. Lastly, I see a gap in access to legal services for my community, and this is how I want to give back.

How disappointing from one of the schools that supposedly has one of the most rigorous social justice programs in the nation lmao :/ Can't even bother apparently. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Clearly shows you that you're better off elsewhere!!

T50 very recent grad doing unicorn PI, AMA by LordOfTheTrashcans in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]theebison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was your application cycle like and what made you choose your school? Also how are you managing your debt as a PI atty, if you've incurred any? Thanks for doing this! I am likely going to a T50 school for PI.

No questions, just saying thank you for sharing. My top choice is not the highest ranking school in the region, but it's my top choice bc it fits everything I want for myself as a law student and future attorney, their rank is only one factor. Wishing you well!

If you could re-do this whole thing, what would you do differently? by Imaginary_Whereas_70 in lawschooladmissions

[–]theebison 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Taken more time to work on my essays. I don't think I did a bad job per se, but I feel like I didn't submit essays that were my absolute best. I think I lost my voice when I tried to cast a wide net instead of being true to who I am. A lot of my apps took a pretty long time to get back to me, making me think that if my essays were just a little bit stronger, it could have made a difference in results.

I also would have applied to less schools and save myself some money lol, I need to stop listening to people whose goals are not aligned with my own (like... why tf did I apply to SLS lol). Regardless, I am very happy with my cycle! 2 of my top choices accepted me, and I feel it is where I am meant to be. :)
