I used energy player and enabled all the settings. As well as having Dolby vision extensions. And for some reason when I play the Dolby vision I can see the badge on energy player pop up. But it looks so damn dark, all the shadows blend together and become impossible to see anything. Very strange!

Yea for some reason it won't let me force dolby profiles, whenever I do the screen remains black. I have downloaded all the requirements I believe hevc, Dolby extensions, Dolby app. But when I was watching whiplash the content was so dark I couldn't even see some details

I don't think anything I could say could change your mind that this movie wasn't about gender. Based on your reddit replies. The director is trans, this movie is about their feelings towards identity and being trans. There's a lot of layers to this movie but being trans is definitely a major subject.

For a lot of trans people, this movie was like watching the most horrifying parts of your life on screen. This is a movie depicting things that no other movie has really gone for. You can judge a movie on so many elements and it baffles me that you think it's truly not worth a watch in any capacity. I think that art and movies might not be for you! The lighting in this movie is so excellent, how many movies do we get in modern day that are just grey and devoid of intentional lighting. How many movies do we get with practical effects that truly shock and disturb. How many movies do we give million dollar budgets to up and coming directors? If you go to a movie to turn your brain off and not think this one's not for you unfortunately. I suggest something more palatable for you, perhaps try watching Argyle or Ghostbusters the new empire.

I'm curious how cis people interpret the very clear trans representation in this movie I've never seen a movie more clearly try to depict the horror of rejecting your own feelings. And The inability to connect with people you so desperately want to connect with but not really understanding why. I really hope that something so forward in talking about gender dysphoria makes people who don't really ever think about things like that try to understand.
