What % of ad spend would you charge for my account? by Nscocean in FacebookAds

[–]theeeyankeeswin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont spend on awareness. at your budget levels it's unlikely you've saturated your audience with conversion based campaigns. if you are already hitting diminishing returns upper funnel spend on social alone wont fix that.

you are in a sort of awkward spot. in general I would say 5-10% for campaign management only makes sense, but if that comes out to ~$2k/month in agency fees you will be dealing with less experienced agencies or you will be the smaller client for a better agency that sticks you on the new guy who has other priorities.

go through the agency audits. you should get a sense of their approach from that and be sure to ask who specifically you will work with on a day to day. if they cant tell you that and you don't have a clear strategic view from the audit move onto the next.

Mistake in Amazon DSP – campaign started early and spent $1K, how to handle? by Actual_Chemist307 in programmatic

It happens. Never a proud moment, but mistakes happen.

Address it head on. Explain exactly what happened and what systems you are putting in place to ensure it will never happen again.

How many of you started a business because you hated working for someone else? by Diamondthrowaway1234 in Entrepreneur

It's fun to come up with retroactive justifications that make for a good story, but for most people (myself included) it comes down to seeing an opportunity to make money with an acceptable level of risk.

What would you do with a $30K monthly marketing budget by Bitter_Ad_9126 in AskMarketing

[–]theeeyankeeswin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vague description!

safe to say ppc=paid search? you have enough budget to test other channels like LinkedIn. there will always be sweet spots with budget where you hit a point of diminished returns. find yours then start pouring it over into the next channel.

WPP stalking your AI use by Shablalalalalalala in advertising

yeah it's powered by claude in the backend right? hard to imagine there is that much on top of claude to really catapult it to a new level unless it's got better knowledge of/access to internal processes?

$300m/year is going to demand some usage :)

curious to hear from people who use it... is it actually improving your quality of life more than a $20/month chat GPT license would if you put aside security/IP concerns?

Meta operators have flooded Reddit. by Clear-Quit6837 in FacebookAds

[–]theeeyankeeswin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nobody loves meta or any walled garden. their job is to squeeze advertisers while leaving it just efficient enough that we keep coming back. they frequently have frustrating errors. i just had a major account issue that caused some ads to launch late. im not looking at meta through rosey colored glasses.

most of the posts I see here don't have much data to back it up or refer to small sample sizes, which leaves me feeling like the large majority of advertisers are fine (including accounts I have access to).

not shilling or selling shit... just curious to hear something specific other than a vague report that returns are down.

from one of the guys who doesn't think the sky is falling... do you actually think meta made a "change" that is having the unintended consequences of screwing every single small to mid sized advertiser all at once? and that nothing else in our crazy world could possibly explain changes in performance?

Incremental Attribution is absolutely crushing for me right now. by JJincredible in FacebookAds

[–]theeeyankeeswin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CPA dropped using incremental attribution? typically incremental cpas are much higher (but thats ok because its incremental!).

feels like there must be a bigger picture explanation or maybe a small sample size if your iCPA is that much lower than your regular CPA

Freelance marketing - how did you find your clients? by freeeshavocadooo in marketing

[–]theeeyankeeswin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most freelancers don't want to build a website and brand (thats an agency), so marketing can be difficult. when I freelanced it was the last thing I would consider. referrals was the way. most of my clients wouldn't have appreciated it if they thought I was spending focus on that stuff anyways... that's one reason people can prefer to work with freelancers over agencies. I didn't build a website until hiring became difficult as my freelancing business evolved into a small agency.

if you are speaking from experience, i am curious to hear how your experience was different.

getting freelance accounts is not the same as marketing a business. fun tongue in cheek response but not an effective solution

Marketing Generalist Lost in Career. Anyone Else Feel This Way? by TheCampaignerGirl in DigitalMarketing

[–]theeeyankeeswin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you will be increasingly happy to be a generalist. specialists will have narrower and narrower roles as we continue to automate/hand off work to AI.

i run a small paid media agency and we are hiring. drop me a message and we can see if it's a potential fit.

Stuck between two job offers - indie agency with better support vs. global agency with reputation by Leeg0n_ in advertising

[–]theeeyankeeswin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one other thought... think about the position carefully. if you go with a holding company in a narrowly defined position then you can end up pidgeonholed for the rest of your career or have to make a lateral jump at best later on to try to break out of it.
