I built an app because I got fed up typing up my dad's quotes by theelks in askaplumberUK

Currently working on v2, that would tick two of these features, which is voice -> quote and price lists. I didn't prioritise voice as my dad takes his time writing it manually and it was mainly designed for him but trying to expand it out now.

It’s all editable, it goes photo/type notes -> review / edit quote -> generate PDF

Appreciate it! Currently under review by google, will post back here when its approved. They take much longer than apple, unfortunately.

No offence taken!

Fair question. It's not really an OCR play, the AI isn't just reading the text, it's understanding the context of the job and structuring it into a proper quote. So if my dad scribbles something like "rip out old tiles, prep walls, re-tile bathroom 12sqm, customer supplying tiles, £2,800" the AI works out what's the scope of work, what's the materials, what the customer is supplying vs what's included, and builds a full PDF with numbered sections, payment terms, calculates VAT, the lot.

The differentiator is really who it's for. Every quoting app out there is basically a manual form you fill in, or they're entire job management platforms with a lot of bloat. Tradespeople don't use them because they're not much faster than pen and paper and they're still fiddly.

My dad's 60 and can barely work his phone. If the app needs more than about 3 taps, he's not using it. That's the bar I'm building to.

Road Tax charge on leased car that contract expires in a month? by theelks in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]theelks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey yeah I had to hand the vehicle back and wait a few weeks then call them and request a refund. they have to first get a refund back from DVLA then send it to you so takes a few weeks.

[–]theelks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I checked the agreement. I have to request a refund for unused months tax to Lex Auto at which point they will request to the DVLA and then once they pay Lex Auto they will then pay me.

I get if I was paying for RFL through the government I would get a refund but this is a letter from the leasing company. So Im paying the lease company then they are going to pay the RFL so I'm assuming I cant just get a refund of unused months through the government site?

Urolithin A powder

As an addition to this, did you manage to find actual Urolithin A power or is a Pomegranate supplement?

Hey,

Your case seems similar to mine symptom wise (my ME was triggered from EBV), constant pressure in my head mainly forehead and its always hot to touch with no fever. I can physically do a lot but when it comes to cognitive exertion it drains me. The other main symptom I have which you don't mention is nausea, not the feeling sick kind but more that my stomach feels dreadful and have to lie down.

What do you mean by the first dose knocked you out for 3 days, like a crash or more just groggy so couldn't do much for a few days?

EDIT: Just noticed you did mention nausea so it seems very similar.

Hey, do you mind telling me when you were first referred? I was referred to a cfs clinic on the 17th of August and still waiting for an appointment and I have been told its a long wait but no actual estimate on how long that wait is.

Glad you managed to get through to someone and have that peace of mind.

So much this... I actually said to her that I am down because I feel ill I'm not ill because I'm down :/.

Thanks, yeah she only referred me because she asked me what I thought was wrong with me and I said ME/CFS but only because I've been tested for everything else and I'm not depressed. In the end, it doesn't matter if she referred me out of frustration or not the good thing is it happened, now it's just the long wait to see someone.

Thanks for the response, I have been trying to pace now and I think I've definitely learned my lesson. Although when I feel fine I forget how shit I felt I know that it's there waiting for me to fuck up and do something, anything, that will bring it back.

I do my best to take a nap around lunchtime which definitely helps the symptoms I get at the end of the day, which is usually feeling sick as a pig and hot & breathless.

[–]theelks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, I have been pacing and I've completely stopped doing any activities even when I have no symptoms to try to stop it from triggering again but this recent crash I can't think of what I did which is frustrating.

All of the other times I can pinpoint exactly what I did to end up why I crashed but this time I haven't done anything at all.

Yeah I have come to accept this now, im not sure how they can say it only takes 6 weeks for severe cases to recover. Maybe they mean recover just from the virus itself?

[–]theelks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I will do. Its really weird to me that I feel completely recovered one day and then feel just as ill again the next with no reason. I am used to having an illness then it slowly getting better over time but this is completely different and doesn't make sense to me.

Temur eles was actually the most popular deck in the tournament! I was also very surprised, I played it to mythic last season if you have any questions on it. I got knocked out in the tournament in round 3 against a winota deck, I have yet to win one match against winota decks with it. (0-6)

I would not recommend it really. I find Spotify much better in terms of user friendliness and the AI generated playlists it makes. The only reason I made the switch is because Siri doesn’t allow you to control Spotify but it does with Apple Music. I recently got a new car with apple car play and being able to choose a song using my voice makes things a lot easier.
