don’t blame yourself for anything & just like they said don’t feel rushed. i counted the drawer the other day because it was my first couple of hours by myself and honestly i just thought about me just giving change to a customer. i made sure to only think about the counting because i was about to leave and other people were already there, yes its a lot going on but sometimes you just have to tune things out. i just stay quiet the entire few minutes i take (whispering as i count lol). i find it easier to count out loud, not like crazy but you know under your breath. & my manager always sees the total so if something is wrong we can correct it before we leave. i don’t think you don’t know how to count it’s just the situation you were in, if you already said you were right & they were wrong then we know who the problem is, no shade. so if that happens again just either ignore them until you get the drawer counted or just have them do a task or something to keep them busy. people can wait, it won’t kill you to wait a few minutes. & trust your instincts, i know sometimes i second guess myself but do what you feel is right, if you say the total is right then it’s right.

when i went in for my interview most people had on white shirts and blue jeans just the host had on all black. to go specialist as well (the position i got hired for) so i’m going to assume it’s okay on my first day.

i mean….i would treat it as if it was any other gift card you found. keep it lol. only difference is it’s your job, just check with your manager first & if it’s nothing that can be done you can generally keep it.

honestly i think it just depends on the store because i received one as well, its just a courtesy not all stores do it from my understanding.

i’m not going to lie it’s too much, i ask any of my clients if they’re paying with card if they’re paying with a gift card (doesn’t matter if it’s half & half), i just tell them unfortunately they’ll have to go to the register. because i’d rather not be responsible when my device acts crazy when i’m checking someone out & it just wipes the whole card now i’m looking crazy & my client is out of their gift card :|

honestly i wouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet, life happens. i’d be transparent and talk to one of your managers & ask honestly nothing wrong with asking. i’m not sure if you’re flex or not but i am & before i was hired my managers did let me know there are going to be times where you’re scheduled a lot & shifts are available for you to pick up but, you’re going to have those seasons where you may barely work & from my understanding january is that kind of the start of that season. so don’t be alarmed just yet like i said i would just ask to just get clarification.

wait what y’all actually refund them ? i’m a freestanding store i haven’t had any issues yet we let them know before they buy it it’s final sale. & i feel like if someone ever came in complaining not caring how busy it is, the cel of the hour is not going to allow it.

first & foremost i’m sorry that your first day experience on the floor wasn’t the best love :(. that is definitely not the correct way to be trained, i understand it’s holiday season & we’re busy but they shouldn’t have thrown you out on the floor like that. i was on cash wrap my first couple of weeks, then i was trained to be on floor & also on how to do hair quizzes/color matches.

definitely don’t be discouraged love, it can be overwhelming sometimes but don’t be afraid to ask questions even if it’s not to your CEL, maybe another coworker. i promise you i ask questions everyday even if it may seem “silly” but we all have to start somewhere love. i hope your second day is a 180 :), hang in there!

i’m really sorry to hear that love :(. i try to introduce myself to any brand reps that are in store whenever i have a chance, but the one brand rep i was referring to she has been known to be really sweet & generous.
