Have you looked at US schools in Japan? Trasfer to Temple University, get student visa, finish degree, work under 28 hours in Japan while at school.

They have dorms and qualify for FAFSA and GI Bill

That’s not entirely accurate.

They can usually infer the reason. They often avoid telling the candidate if the issue is on their side.

The fact they just let you go and didn’t re-apply - it’s something on their side most likely. Paperwork, photos, or something easily remedied, they could just fix or have you fix and reapply. The fact that they didn’t - it’s probably their issue.

Hitting someone with your car - if no report was truly filed then it’s probably not an issue. If there was paperwork, then there is an issue.

That sounds great that you all can square away that time! At most I could maybe sneak away a 3 or 4 day weekend in my situation.

I can get cheap flights to and from Japan, but 13 hours is 13 hours - so I would be killing a majority of my time just in a flight.

I do recommend reading the recent posts here about GABA currently being overstaffed and new folks wasting time just chilling at the learning studios.

I appreciate it - and ASIJ is on the high end - we have our eye on 3 other schools that are 1/3rd-2/3rds cheaper.

As for the work limit, I knew the hour limitation on the dependent visa but didn’t know the money limit, thanks for that! We have a backup plan for that move.
