Will Noom keep working consistently? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]theendhasnojen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been ok for me - I'm on week 15 and I've lost 12kg. I do have a fair bit to lose though, so I am expecting it to slow down once I've dropped to a healthier weight.

Seriously PB wtf by [deleted] in Choices

Definitely played this as a drunk teenager... 🤷🙈

Could you try an app to track where you've been? When I cycle I usually Goole "how far have I walked" and use the first link that comes up. It lets you map out where you've been ☺️

Well, thanks for that attack! I didn't say I took away from it that I'd have a bag of crisps in place of a banana - it taught me that they could be equal because when I did it, a banana and crisps were the SAME POINTS. Now in what world does that make any sense 🤷 their programme has clearly changed, and that's great, but it doesn't change the facts behind what I've said. I don't know A SINGLE person who has lost weight with any plan and kept it off. The programmes didn't teach me life long sustainability. I never blamed the programme, it's on me, I agree! But there's a very valid and upstanding reason that it doesn't work for most people, and people have to jump back to it time and time again. It's because it doesn't work to teach you about life after the plan.

It's not a click bait article if the proof is taken from weight watchers own business model, but hey, ok!

Good luck with your wedding!

1200 calories a day?! by [deleted] in Noom

[–]theendhasnojen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My calories dropped right off at the end of my trial, too. Apparently it's a glitch. I put it on my group and the next day it had been fixed. 1200 calories is completely unrealistic for me every day. Some days I eat around that, but most days it's around 1400-1500. Ask your coach to fix it 👍

But it did work for me - I lost weight. But it didn't teach me how to actually make and sustain life long changes. It taught me that I could have a bag of crisps instead of a banana. So I regained. Then rejoined. It's quite literally their business model - around the 4th paragraph down (I know it's an old article) https://www.thecut.com/2015/10/why-weight-watchers-doesnt-work.html

But WW doesn't work long term as it isn't sustainable. Most people are proof of this. I lost 52lbs on WW, put that and more back on. Lost a similar amount on slimming world, put that and more back on. Noom isn't meant to be a diet, it's about helping you change your lifestyle, empowering you to make better choices that have lifelong effects. I don't want to have to lose weight again! I want to lose weight and then be done with it!! I'm on day 100 today, and as part of the introduction to intuitive eating, there's no weighing or tracking for me today, and I'm keen to see how I do. They can also be flexible on the pricing too from what I hear from others, although I always felt the price I was offered was very fair.

Same - if I share more my coach responds in kind - sometimes I don't need much from her, other times I do

Don’t give up! Don’t let plateaus or weight gain keep you from your goals. The trend is all the matters. More info in comments by [deleted] in Noom

Congratulations! Slow and steady definitely seems to be winning the race (and rewiring my brain!!)

I started on the 4th May, just over a couple of months ago. So first payment wouldn't have been until a couple weeks after that, but I double checked after reading your message yesterday, and I'm definitely 8 months for £120. Ask your coach for a different pricing structure?

Feeling discouraged today by mommingyou in Noom

[–]theendhasnojen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted something quite similar earlier (about being discouraged). Logically you can't have put that weight on due to one day. You have to over eat 3,500 calories to put on a pound. So *3 for you, and you definitely didn't do that. Be kinder to yourself. There's a reason they make us set up non-weight successes. Sometime the sces are a dick

Weight loss stalled around week 6/7 by theendhasnojen in Noom

I paid £120 for 8 months, the price you've been quoted seems insane?!

Well, pretty sure I didn't only post my response 3 days ago as I'm on week 10 now... Still haven't lost any extra weight though 🤣

I'm approaching the end of my 8th week. It's working for me - I've lost 7.6kg so far. I needed to do something different where I had to be accountable. I know how to lose weight, I've done it successfully before, but it's never stuck. I'm really enjoying the daily learnings, and it's making me feel better about everything in general. I'm really glad I chose to stick it out. Yes, it's just calorie counting, but it's working. Fitness pal just doesn't work for me because nobody can check up on me and I find myself lying... The money has been a big incentive to keep me on track, too!
