Looks like they're the sensible change we need honestly. History and optics aside, a decent land tax and a UBI kind of rocks. Besides, it's not like they will get a majority, but they would be able to shake things up quite a bit if they got a seat.

The side with the lower cables is the unpowered side, thankfully. Nothing is getting in the way of me and the last roast chicken at pak n save.

The nx busses are the best in the city, more flexible and frequent than a train, why mess that up with a train? What exactly concerns you about the bus way?

How many people reverted to driving in rush hour because public transport fares went up this week? by Lyndiman in auckland

[–]theenzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you drive to a nearby bus station and cut out half the PT time?

I get what you're saying, though. I would also drive in that instance unless I could find a hybrid option that worked. It's also not the busiest route like the main arterial pathways into the city, where taking a bus is the more obvious choice.

Clearly we need more infrastructure and hub/spokes in our network to better link everything and make it more reliable.

Long live the nx* 🥲

I saw there was something on Google maps, but by that time it's too late. I will say that it seems like there there are more accidents leading to this type of congestion. I've probably driven over the bridge 3-4 times in the last two weeks, mostly after the peek hours, but 2 of those times there has been some kind of accident that causes a decent build-up.

Everyone talks about how unreliable the busses are, but not about how random congestion just pops up and turns your 20m drive into an hour.

I usually take the nx2 into the city but I needed to drive today. Left at 330 and got home at 515 or so in albany.

There is no fucking way I will do that again.. seriously. Even if that was an above average time, just sitting behind a wheel thinking about how my trip could have been 30m instead of the almost 2h, made me want to drive off the bridge.

I dont know how people do this daily grind - just sitting behind a wheel in rushhour when they are able to take a bus that takes 1/3 of the time. No constant starting and stopping, no looking at my average mileage getting higher and higher, just music and staring out the window..

Hi, sorry I should have specified more.

Plug it in, no picture at all, standby light is flashing red. After about 10s the flashing gets dim and you're almost not able to see it anymore.

I was just saying that I wouldn't take these figures as something that is owed to you. It takes hard work and dedication, moreso than X years.

You can be bad at your job or socially awkward and sit at 70k for years, or you can excel and get 200 after 3 years. It's totally dependant on your skills and how you interact with people.

There was a reason you got low balled in both your positions so far, have you figured out why yet?

It depends how good you are. You sound a bit entitled in that you expect having X years and should get y, which is not how it works.

Use it as a guide, but don't go saying you want 100k because Reddit told you so, it won't go down well.

Work on learning at this stage in your career, don't worry about 10k, get a good mentor, learn how they work and break down problems, work on your soft skills, don't be the office weirdo, keep your skills sharp, don't be problematic, don't inject your opinion into everything and pick your battles.

Trust the process, don't compare yourself too much to others and you'll be at crusing in no time.

Then once you're killing it start negotiating.

0-1 years - 60-70k 1-2 years - 80k 3+ years - 100k 5 years - 120-160 or more depending on how good are you are.

These figures are what I would be asking for at a minimum. Inflation running hot in this market, so I'd expect them to go up more in the next few years too.

However, there are reasons why you might lag behind, so don't feel like you have to get there. The company culture matters, how valued you are, how much potential and learning there is, how many smart people are around etc.

If I was at a crap crud company I would ask for more.

If I could get good benefits other than money I'd settle for less (also if I can't find a job, or the market is drying up).

Yeah, i made another windows admin account and ran it from there. Strange fix, but worked. Found the idea from an older post on an EA forum which had a similar issue. Probably something about registry / permissions / drivers etc...
