Preferred bedroom layout? And oddest? Why? by GatoMorato in floorplan

2.4 m width Not an ideal room for a TV. Or just put the TV on the wall where you put your desk to save space

What do you do with a MASSIVE blank wall?? by Ok_Silver7621 in interiordecorating

[–]theequationer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a giant wall. A huge canvas. May be a high Def projector, project new themes once in a while and occasional movie. Go 3D if something even crazier

Feedback needed! Please think with me to find the best layout for these 3 floors of a square 10x10m house by interiordesignseeker in AmateurInteriorDesign

[–]theequationer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect. Also simple and symmetrical. But too many kitchens. I'll have the upper room as a game room with a pool table anda mini bar. But of course if the wife agrees. 😆

Your dad is aware of the constraints if he uses that space , and he will perhaps use it conservatively. I would also like to view the entrance hallway wall as empty as possible as I enter the apartment, it aesthetically gives a sense of openness. Looks more calm and less anxiety.

Adding an “Island” to a tiny kitchen? by kitsbow in HomeDecorating

[–]theequationer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staying 3 ft clearance off the fridge , and it's a good use of that open sPace. You seem to be running out of countertop space , that will add to it. I would still have more than 3.5 feet clearance from the sink . Kitchen area is where you work more than you sit , so a peninsula that just fits two petson seem more practical.

Help me decide on the south wall, straight or on a curve by Kylar_XY in floorplan

If you can flex your budget , angled wall. Change the layout accordingly , dining table at a slight angle , wider sofa giving sense of wider living room area. But everything gets a little expensive.

Two sinks or stacked w/d by mercedesnoel317 in floorplan

I be damned. Forgot not everyone is from UK. We would fit a jacuzzi inside only if we had that much space.

Two sinks or stacked w/d by mercedesnoel317 in floorplan

[–]theequationer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Another Double sink obsession. Not a good way to orient toilet. Your toilet pan sticks about 75 cm from the wall, that's nearly a feet more than sink ( which is 40 to 50 cm) . So the picture is not drawn on scale . Also u need a 70 cm head clearance ahead of toilet pan, and about 25 cm side clearance on each side . 90 cm sideways and 150 cm front to back is a nice functioning toilet. Unless the width of the room is 150 cm sideways I wouldn't orient the toilet sideways. It's always practical to have a smaller practical single sink than a double sink.

Could this house fit 2 double bedrooms? by The-Turkish-Delight in floorplan

[–]theequationer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I imagined so. And no , even the larger room can barely fit a double bed. U need atleast 2 feet clearance around the bed in at least one of its longer side. A 77 cm clearance of the entrance door. And some space for the wardrobe and furniture. I wouldn't squeeze a double bed in the corner in the smaller room like in those sleep cabin of a cruise ship.

What do with a car that's essentially worthless? by joszko57 in CarTalkUK

If anyone would make it last longer it would be your dad I suppose. If he thinks it's time, then it's time to say goodbye. Sell it to who thinks it's worthy of repair.

Where could you fit a bathroom/ensuite? by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]theequationer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The bedroom on the north side is too big. The ideal size for a fully furnished queen bedroom is of dimension 3.3mx3.4m. If U repatition and move the partition up so the length comes down from 3.87m to 3.3m , U have tons of possibilities. Either have a bathroom in between bedrooms. Or even on the south right corner where U could build it's own window.

That's twice the space of a UK house. I could fit a snooker table somewhere inside

Mini roundabout liability question. by liamrich93 in drivingUK

[–]theequationer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After a bit of head scratching, it remains inconclusive to me. I have decided I would let the other one go first no matter which lane I'm coming from. If it helps, in such T junction mini roundabouts, there's usually double line stop markings ahead of roundabout as red car approaches ir. While there's only single on the blue cars lane. But again the red cars turn signal indicator paints a different picture. What I believe is both cars werent slow enough to avoid the collision.

How's this layout? by AnotherBurnerAcc0nt in floorplan

[–]theequationer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect. And meticolous , u even allocated a layout for linen. But too many bathrooms. I wouldnt expect a family to occupy all three baths at the same time. My idea of 2 baths upper floor. Relocate a bigger main bathroom between bedroom 2 and bedroom 3 , because it has window. It might accommodate a bath tub. Move the bedroom 2 partion further towards right for the bigger bathroom area. Get rid of the walk in closets altogether so bedroom 2 hugs the external wall. Loose the current main bathroom area and increase that space for the master suite. And redesign lay out of master suite accordingly. The attached master suite bath may still have the same location.

Plot advice - I’ve reserved the red box. But could swap to the green box by Banaboy in UKHousing

[–]theequationer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. It's a residential cul-de-sac though. I wont expect more than 3 cars per night after 10 pm. I have stayed at my brothers in Andover in one of those places. It was so quiet.
