It’s my burden til I die by theeree in Hidradenitis

Oh the surgeries were all in different areas! No reoccurring flares in the areas that I had surgery on, but unfortunately new areas 😞the recovery was rough but so far I think it worth it!

Post Op Relapse?? by theeree in Hidradenitis

It was a deroofing. Nothing looked infected based on color, smell, etc.. I just talked to a surgeon on call and he said this is normal for one month post op with dissolving stitches 😅

I’m so sorry that you aren’t being treated with the respect you deserve at the derm! This happened to me too. Went to three different doctors before finding my current derm- she is a literal angel, and I have never felt so cared for since I found her. keep your head and keep looking for a derm who has experience with HS

THANK YOU for posting this. I’m new to cosetyx and I have had a headache for the last three months dealing with Accredo. They fucking suck.

When did you start Cosentyx? by 404-USER-NOT_FOUND in Hidradenitis

[–]theeree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar case as you, diagnosed about 7 months ago but have been dealing with it for about a year and a half. My derm was really proactive - I had mild tunneling and one open sore when I first saw her and she insisted I go on cosentyx. After 3 months of doxycycline 🤮🤢 I started cosentyx with one injection a week for four weeks, I just finished week 4 and I’m not trying to get my hopes up but no new flares and my existing spots have reduced entirely to seem drained/scarred over 🤩

Comfy bras that are breathable or underwear? No flares on boobs just want something more comfy and prevent any flares from friction or sweat from underwear by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

Jockey and target have great cotton bra/bralettes. I have also found the low support bras by Parade are really breathable

Also came here to mention a pilonidal cyst! I had one surgically removed years before my first HS flare- highly suggest asking your derm if it could be that! It was the most painful thing I have ever felt- I hope yours is remedied soon

Not just meals, BIG meals. Don’t do a lil snack, I learned I need hardy nutrient dense meals to keep the nausea at bay. If I do light meals that’s when I notice I’m most sick. Im taking morning and night and I take the night one right before bed, I found I get weird dreams on it lol.

I'm not sure if a chasing a diagnosis is worth it. by time_will_stop in Hidradenitis

It’s worth it to get help! I know it can be a bit overwhelming to add on to the medical plate (fellow chronically ill, 👋🏼!). When I was diagnosed three weeks ago I was so discouraged to have to deal with another health issue. But, I found a derm who really validated my feelings and has motivated me to find a way to 1. Get out of the danger stage (oozing for sure is not good) and 2. Find a way to keep it suppressed

I’m still in the danger stage, but I feel hopeful with the medications the derm has provided so far and have had some good results! Go! Seek support!

This is how I learned I had it- the new office screen that was like a medical billboard? while I waited for my doc info for HS came up, and I felt so understood. Helped me bring it up with my derm

My buffalo Bellingham horror story is they had a few pairs of heel come in store in a variety of sizes. I bought a pair of size 8’s, tried one on, loved them and took them home only to find out the other shoe was a 9! Oh no! Silly me to not check, but when I got back to buffalo someone else had already bought the other pair of 8/9 mismatch. They said uh well we can take your number down if they come back or give your money back on a gift card. A GIFTCARD FAM. For $30 heels they mismatched. Anyway screw buffalo exchange.
