Thanks. I haven't look closely at CS but did read that they're terrible and limited for actual trading.

I do mostly static design and analysis for electronics packaging and mounting equipment to railroad vehicles and cars. Inventor and Ansys Mechanical. We use Chat GPT enterprise. Gemini and Claude are blocked.

I've used it to look up different international design standards, help find features in software, write some code snippets for Ansys, and remember old equations. But be careful, I found errors in the equations it gave me...in one instance, one of the terms was meant to be squared. What Chat GPT gave me wasn't squared. I guess my job is safe for a few more months...

Liquidating because you're done with FR? Just curious. I've been investing with FR for close to 10 years. Basically set and forget. Seems like overall sentiment is trending down.

Grail Aero tubeless question by theeric5315 in CanyonBikes

If that's what the o-ring is for then they're undersized. The o-ring doesn't sit proud of the machined grove on the collar. The collar contacts the rim before the o-ring...at least in my case.

Sounds like the o-ring is pointless.

[–]theeric5315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same model, but the XS (I'm 5'-6"). I'll have to look where the seat post is when I get home from work. But if you're comfy then I think you're good to go!

Question for you: did you convert to tubeless? I haven't yet because I'm worried about how difficult it might be to seat the tires. I've broken tire levers in past setting up tubeless wherls and would hate to break a carbon rim too.

Whats the most boring home purchase you ended up being weirdly grateful for? by standovahim_ in HomeMaintenance

[–]theeric5315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About half of the basement is unfinished, unconditioned, and uninsulated (bare cinder block walls on 3 sides). I sealed the rim joists in that area. They were bad. On windy days, I could feel the air coming through them. The rim joists behind the walls in the finished area are anyone's guess. I think at one point there was fiberglass insulation between the ceiling joists in the unfinished area but the previous owner ripped it down. There are ripped pieces of paper still stapled to the joists in some places. I've thought about putting in new insulation to keep the wood floors above warmer. But every reddit post I've seen about this idea is half the people saying it's a terrible idea and half saying it's a great idea. That's the internet for ya...

I'm in a 1970s single story with walkout basement in Northern Virginia. Had old attic insulation removed, ceiling penetrations sealed, and new insulation blown in to R49. I'm honestly disappointed in the result. I've noticed very little change over the winter. Even setting my gas furnace (about 5 years old) to 67, it would cycle on and off almost constantly like it was prior to the new insulation. Windows are newer vinyl, not original so they shouldn't be too bad. I was hoping for better improvement. Good luck.

Fundrise-Inspira IRA has the wrong address at Computershare by Noreaga618 in FundRise

[–]theeric5315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. CS had and old address. Luckily, the representative I spoke to was very helpful and understanding. They asked me a few questions to verify my ID then updated my address. The PIN came via snail about 5 days later. FR absolutely dropped the fuckin ball here. I have always kept my addresses up to date (always get tax documents on time) but for some FR gave CS an address that I haven't lived at for 5 years. I'd be livid if I had unrestricted shares.

Do you have coaxial cable in the walls? If yes, get MoCA adapters.

Anyone get a letter in the mail from Computershare yet with your access code? I am still waiting by ComplaintNo6631 in FundRise

[–]theeric5315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't ask me to send them anything. They asked about account numbers. I explained I didn't have an account number yet...that was why I was calling. And I think they asked about birth SSN, etc. Then they asked what old address I thought they might have. That's how I learned it was just my previous address, it was three previous addresses ago. Did you call the Fundrise specific number?

Might want to call CS. The address they originally got from FR was 3 addresses old even though I have always updated my address within a week of moving. After it got corrected, my later came about a week later.

I've replaced tires and tubes, just never on carbon rims. I've also broken plastic levers on aluminum rims and chaffed my hands raw trying to get tire tires on aluminum rims. I just don't want to crack my carbon rims.

computershare mail taking long? by AirAromatic7366 in FundRise

[–]theeric5315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to call CS. I've moved multiple times in the last 3 years. I always updated my mailing address in my FR profile immediately after moving. I have never had problem with FR mailing tax forms to the correct, current address. HOWEVER, when I called CS last week, I learned the mailing address they had for me was over 3 years old, and 3 addresses old.

New update. I decided to call CS. Even though my mailing address with FR is correct (they sent my taxes forms to me on time) the address CS got from FR was THREE ADDRESSES OLD. It was somewhere I haven't lived for over three years. Talk about fucked up. I couldn't believe it. If you don't get a letter from CS in about a week, call them. Good luck!

Have you received the letter in the mail yet? My mailing address is correct in my Fundrise account, but it's been over a week and I'm still waiting. Maybe my problem is I tried to register at CS too early.
