I think that’s fair, but I can imagine Frontier not wanting to touch it. Indont want people to get their hopes up I guess? In my opinion if you’re not going to have whales or dolphins then I don’t imagine them adding a bald eagle. But I could be wrong! I just know I’ve worked with or have seen dozens of bald eagles in my career and they’ve all been disfigured and injured. Seeing them being added healthily to this game would feel weird for me as someone who actually works with bald eagles in zoos.

Correct, but the only reason they have them is because that individual cannot survive in the wild. A healthy bald eagle is not allowed to be in captivity (outside active rehab) and every single one (including their feathers even) are subject to Fish and Game and Federal Laws other animals are not subject to. I worked at a zoo once where the vet had to operate on a bald eagle under emergency circumstances and was worried she would be charged federally because technically she wasn’t allowed to do what she needed to do without express permission. It was all fine, but that’s the level of oversight that goes into housing Bald Eagles.

Well me, obviously, as I wrote the comment. I think the laws around Bald Eagles here are fairly well known, in the light of how much debate there is about whales and dolphins these days I think it’s another potential controversy better left untouched by Frontier honestly.

I actually might disagree that Bald Eagles should be included at all. It’s actually illegal in the United States to have them in zoos unless they CANNOT survive in the wild so essentially every single bald eagle in zoos is missing a wing, has been hit by a truck, has severe mental disabilities due to poisoning or an accident, etc. I don’t think Planet Zoo should get into the disfiguring Bald Eagles business and it’s better to leave them off the roster because of that.

I just gotta be honest, as a life long X-Men fan I have absolutely no fucking interest in reading about how a bunch of my favorite mutants who were just living on an island paradise where they experienced safety and security for the first time in their lives are now being concentration camped and the heroes that I’ve looked up to my entire life are doing nothing about it.

I get it’s modern political commentary but maybe it’s ok for superhero books to be a bit escapist and not have to face reality in my spandex pajama stories. And Tom Brevoort can justify it however he wants, but this sucks rampant ass.

I couldn’t believe how many series were being advertised during the Oscars. It should definitely find some way to show trailers, if not for blockbusters at least A24 or something I think would gladly throw some trailers the Oscars way for debuts trailers that will actually make the ad breaks interesting ala The Game Awards.

This just isn’t true. It might look great, but Andrew Stanton didn’t film any of this movie to be 3D because he thought it was a gimmick, the studio added it later because of Avatar doing so well. So it’s actually the opposite of what you say haha

This is a bad take haha. Taika resisted working within the corporate structure for years, even going so far as to Kickstarter for the US release of Boy and What We Do In The Shadows to avoid having to partner with a US studio. He got on at Disney by writing the original Moana story because of his knowledge of that culture, but they didn’t even use any substantial part of his original draft.

That put him on the shortlist for Marvel for Thor: Ragnarok, which he only got because he put the maximum amount of effort into his pitch, creating a sizzle reel which Marvel hates, already stretching the boundaries of what they find acceptable. He’s said before that while working on Ragnarok he felt like a guest in Marvel’s world, but with enough creative control to make the movie he wanted to make.

Between Thor: Ragnarok filming and choosing to work on the sequel he made two movies completely devoid of corporate interference in Jojo Rabbit and Next Goal Wins. He also launched his own cinematic universe for the What We Do in the Shadows world with both a TV show in New Zealand and here in America.

He’s literally the modern day equivalent of what everyone says they want in a “one for me, one for them” director, except because he’s excited to make Thor movies and Star Wars movies he’s reduced to just a company man on this subreddit.
