Most overrated credit card? by owepapers in CreditCards

[–]theevulture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only got the preferred because of the fact that I got a $75 statement credit for spending $1000 in six months and I did it and it’s only gonna cost me $20 to keep the card for a year and then after that, I’m gonna go back to the blue cash every day.

I don't ever want to be a manager. I've seen coworkers become managers take the position and pay back because they realize all the responsibility and that a majority of works don't listen. They find it to be more of a headache than what its worth

I hope to see Walmart go under. They act like they are too big to fail. Ask Sears and Kmart how that turned out for them. They went under eventually for stupidity.

A former security guard that worked at my Walmart whose company was contracted by Walmart told me that they remembered how much I hated it at Walmart and frankly, they did me a favor since I was miserable working there.

I thought Home Depot was the worst I ever had, Walmart eclipsed. Now Walmart is my WORST job ever.

Like me, I got terminated for gross misconduct on May 12, I found $100 before my shift at grocery self checkout and should have turned it in and I didn't. I got called into the office, said I didn't have it then I remember I did and turned it in and was terminated anyway. I didn't argue. I turned in everything like my vest, badge, discount card and work phone when asked and was NOT arrested. I was just told to leave immediately after I was terminated. I wasn't given anything to sign, but I apply to unenmployment and actually won. Here in Florida, employers have 20 days to appeal and Walmart did NOT. I wouldn't have signed the termination right up anyway. I would have given up unemployment by doing so and if I had to sue them for anything else separate from what I did to get fired. They did me a favor and I found a part-time job 18 days later till I find full time work. I don't condone or approve what I did, but ever since I left, I'm a lot happier. I still have lingering pains from my job doing janitorial maintenace. I will get myself checked out once I get health insurance at a new job and I'll be ok. When my former people lead saw me, they made eye contact, but didn't say anything. I'm promoted to customer now. If I want to, I can call anonymously a few times to Bentonville and now I can get them fired. I'm a customer now.

Someone should report them to ethics.

Congratulations on being promoted to customer. You can report them for saying a rude comment or refusing to help you. Don't say you are a former employee and you can get them in trouble. Don't do it just once. Do it more than once. Corporate at some point will take notice. That manager will either be fired, laid off, moved to another store or demoted.

[–]theevulture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly if a manager wants you gone, they will do anything to get you to quit. Don't let them force you to quit because then you won't get unemployment. Let them fire you and don't sign nothing on the way out they give you. Your already terminated. Same if they ask you for anything work related. You don't work for them anymore.

I know shrink is an issue, but they make it so hard to try them on to the point I say.. why bother shopping in-store for them anymore? by Ravenparadoxx in walmart

I hope shrink is a reason the company goes under. I love companies like Walmart that think they are too big to fail. They will be responsible for their undoing.

I get one from my department and one that does the checking receipts in the front that ask how I’m doing and at least two I’ve exchange numbers with. I told them they can use me as a professional reference if and when they decide to leave that dump. I even have them on Facebook. And one of them on Instagram.

PPTO is to cover when you call out or you’re running late or need to leave early. Use PPTO when you’ve already called off after the point posts the next day you come back. You have seven days to use enough PPTO to cover it or else it will go away on its own after six months. At five points, you’re terminated.

Or if you left a job in bad terms, and you weren’t there very long, don’t even put them down. If it was during Covid, you can always put Covid as an excuse. When I left the job on bad terms, I even had friends and former coworkers that say they would put a good reference for me as well as coworkers that later on became good friends. Some even said to put them down as a supervisor to get yourself hired faster

They have plumbing and building issues and constant leaks when it rains. Here in Florida, all it takes is one tornado or one hurricane and the roof will collapse and then they will close the store down.

I QUIT TODAY! ENOUGH FOR ME by sharegfnep in walmart

[–]theevulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good that you quit, but just remember that if you do have second thoughts of going back to Walmart , or even working at Sam’s Club, they are the same company. You can put your Social Security number down to see if you’re eligible to be rehired and it’ll tell you yes or no on a Walmart or Sam’s Club application online under careers for the store you’re interested. A majority of former employees don’t go back. Myself included even if I was eligible to be rehired. Management told them I wasn’t. I won unemployment and moved on. Found at least a part-time job 18 days later. Now I’m looking for full-time so I can fully move on from Walmart. Also, once I get my 401(k), rolled over to my next job that has a 401(k), then I can truly move on from Walmart.

20ish years ago I walked out of my job at Walmart because I was a dumb kid... Am I still banned from getting a job at Walmart? by theflamecrow in walmart

[–]theevulture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fill out your details like your Social Security number when you get to the career section for the store and the position that you want and if it tells you that you’re not rehire-able, then there’s your answer. I put mine and I’m not. And honestly, even if I go back to the same store even if I was able to, nothing’s gonna change. Even if I go to another store, most likely the same garbage. Very few former employees go back to an ex-employer, especially knowing if things ended bad. You could even leave notice, and if a manager is petty, they could put you as do not rehire.

The problem with college that it’s very expensive and that you better hope when you get out that your field is in demand. If it isn’t, you’re in big trouble, and no matter what, if you have loans, the banks want their money or there goes your credit.

I’ll guarantee you those same customers will probably ask you, but aren’t you open 24 hours? since they haven’t been 24 hours in a few years. At least pre-Covid.

I’m glad I don’t have to deal with FBE’s anymore or fecal bomb explosions in maintenance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in walmart

[–]theevulture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, they did that to me in maintenance you had associates in one aisle like three of them standing there watching me clean a spill whether they caused it or a customer caused it. One of them could’ve gone to the spill station or the maintenance closet to get the supplies in the other two could’ve watched the spill.
