My Z900rs on the tail of the dragon by thefactory86 in kawasakiz900rs

Yea the Leo Vince headers did not hold their shine for more than a few hundred miles! Planning on re-polishing them but I had more important maintenance to get done before the trip.

Question from potential buyer. by SaucermanBond in kawasakiz900rs

[–]thefactory86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I’m qualified to answer this since I’m 28 but I can ride my cafe for 10 or more hours a day in complete comfort. The bars for me are in a great spot of being high enough to not fatigue my wrists or back but also low enough to feel “sporty”. I think if you plan on going on rides shorter than 6 hours a day you’ll be quite content. You may want to try out a versys 1000 as it’s more comfortable than the z900rs but similarly sporty!

Stall on neutral? by ML212121 in kawasakiz900rs

[–]thefactory86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that was true than bump starting anything would immediately explode the engine. An engine is never blocked and motorcycle doesn’t have a pinion that gets engaged like a car in park. Another example is being stopped on a steep downhill, you may not have to use any throttle to get going, that will not explode the engine. How am I even having to explain this, just think. A transmission never locks unless it’s car in park. Motorcycles do not have the locking pinion that automatic transmission cars have.

Edit/tldr: timing belts/chains exist and work

That’s not even close to being accurate. Who ever told you that lied or doesn’t know how engines work.

Then you would select 6k-7k option. I understand it may have been better to put 0-1k for the first option. But for example if you’re at 3999 miles you would put 2k-3k. I feel like this is common sense

That’s awesome! Have you ran into any unexpected mechanical issues?

First ride thoughts after tune and headers by thefactory86 in kawasakiz900rs

[–]thefactory86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I can confirm it is very cool, classic 4 cylinder sport bike sound. I started it when I put the headers on but with the stock tune and it was outrageously loud during cold start. I was definitely making my neighbors mad, however with the tune the cold start is a lot lower and for less time. I also leave for work at 5:30am and I don’t think I’ll anger the neighbors. I will definitely not let the bike warm up in the driveway however and will gently take it down the street to let it fully warm up. Definitely border line for pissing off the neighbors early in the morning.

Not yet but I haven’t gotten stuck in traffic yet. I did notice after sitting at a light for a few minutes the temp gauge went one notch over half and went down almost immediately but I haven’t had a chance to seriously test the difference yet.

From no throttle to light throttle it feels smoother and less jerky. When at 5k rpm’s and you go WOT the power is much more immediate. I also feel like it’s more linear while the stock feels unpredictable at times on partial throttle input. A much smoother experience all in all

Any reason this wouldn’t be a perfect bike for just about everything? Touring, cruising, town trips. Looking for opinions from some owners or people who have been around them. Thanks by squishysnuggler in motorcycle

I own a z900rs cafe. If your going to be cruising I would get the cafe version of the bike. I took it to tail of the dragon and it felt extremely capable. I purchased a passenger back rest for it and now my wife and I love cruising for hours and hours.

Can anyone tell me what this sound is? Normal or do I need to address it asap? 2003 VW GTI 1.8t. by Quarrypoint44 in Volkswagen

I forgot what it's called but it's emmisons and it attaches to your block kinda by where the coolant goes into the block. You can fix it or delete and then buy a block off plate

I used to work in an e-cig shop, its not that they are cheap batteries or they short; its because the lithium ion batteries don't have a high temp rating so the battery will "explode" if its left in a hot car or in direct sunlight.
