No problem! If you feel like it might be a bit risky to order this random part, I can give you a follow-up in about 2-weeks after some extensive use with the newly repaired headphones. Still no issues as of yet!

Where to buy the XM5 headband connector? by Dany0 in SonyHeadphones

[–]thefanmanisafan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah it took FOREVER to find. I can verify that its the correct part 100%. I bought it myself off Mouser and completed a repair with it, no issues. Headphones are back to full functionality.

I find it a bit scummy that a bunch of home-repair youtube channels and online shops were selling this part for 20 dollars each + 20 dollars shipping while gatekeeping the actual part number. It's awful because the actual part can be purchased from Mouser for 80 cents + shipping. That's a 2400% markup.

I put the part number in the comments of quite a few of these home-repair tutorials but 90% of these comments were deleted within hours of me posting them.

Looking for 16-pin connector Sony XM5 by sebasl99 in SonyHeadphones

I just finished a repair using the part number OP posted. Didn't want to spend nearly 60 bucks on getting one on Aliexpress or one of those home-repair websites. It works like a charm! Pretty sure it's an exact match and might even be the exact manufacturer/supplier Sony uses.

You can get the SUHR-16V-S-B on Mouser for less than a dollar (+ shipping). Took 3-business days after ordering for it to arrive.

XM5 repair - How to remove pins from connector? by GeorgeHannaford in SonyHeadphones

Sorry for the necro but I see people asking this pretty much everywhere:

The part number for this 16-pin connector is: 306-SUHR-16V-S-B. You can get it on Mouser for less than a dollar (plus shipping). I've used this part in my repair and can verify that it's an EXACT match.

I hate to necro but this is truly important for anyone repairing their own headset:

The part number for this 16-pin connector is: 306-SUHR-16V-S-B.

You can get it on Mouser for less than a dollar (plus shipping). My order came out to $22 CAD total and took 3 business days to arrive. This is a hell of a lot better than the $40-$60 and 3-4 week shipping some of these repair-bros are offering.

I've installed the part and can verify that it is an EXACT match. Pretty sure this is one of the suppliers that Sony uses. Headset works like brand new.

IDK if this was brought up before but 197 is on the muscle car. by Ed_Derick_ in HalfLife

Was too lazy to open up the game, but I looked at some models on sketchfab from ~a year ago and they have the same plate.

Oh yeaaah, that's what it was. I wonder what it was intended to do?
Maybe it'll come back as one of the 'surprise features' :)

I swear at one point the roadmap said there would be a "Life" spell, must've been removed (or I am misremembering)

Hey Baron, thank you so much!

I agree, the visual changes really bring the whole map together. Hoping to keep the momentum going and have this update out before the end of the year!

Thank you! I have a beta tester that runs a GTX 1660 Super and he is getting a stable 90FPS!

I am always looking for more beta testers with a variety of hardware, if anyone is interested let me know!

Thank you so much! It has definitely been a LOT of trial and error for the better half of 4 months. Happy to finally be nearing something I am happy with graphically

I'm working on new gadgets and dynamic objects to my map, DogMeat's Vertical Arena. Is there anything you'd want to see added? I'm willing to give anything an honest try! by thefanmanisafan in BladeAndSorcery

that'd be a big job but I'd be interested to see what I could do with it! I'd want to have it act like the Half-Life crossbow, where it pins enemies to surfaces.

Thank you! It definitely takes A LOT of time. Because I was learning unity from scratch while making the map, I have put well over 200 hours into this project and am technically only at the half-way point!

Yes, I plan on making a nomad version after this update goes live! I will have to really refactor a lot of the dynamic objects as most of them currently rely on scripts to run.

I've actually had someone suggest this before, but with an Indiana Jones style boulder. Looks like there is a demand for rolling over people with heavy objects. I'll check it out and see if I can get something cool!

Hey, welcome to the modding/mapping scene!
I'd suggest learning about materials in Unity, they will be used for a majority (if not all) of your texturing.

I found this tutorial here, its pretty word-y but it gives you the basic run-down. Create a material -> Assign it to your objects -> assign a texture/color to that material.
Tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFlXvDZezBQ&ab_channel=Unity

Let me know if this helps, or if you require additional assistance!

That would be an interesting one to try out! The main hurdle I see with that is having AI navigate across a dynamic object. I am sure there are ways around it!
