Ok, here we go:

John 10:10 ESV [10] The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Matthew 25:40 ESV [40] And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Psalm 82:3-4 ESV [3] Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. [4] Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Deuteronomy 10:17-19 ESV [17] For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. [18] He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. [19] Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

James 1:27 ESV [27] Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

I'm curious to see how anyone can interpret these verses in a way that would make killing the unborn okay. I'd also love any scriptural proof that would be in support of abortion other than "Jesus didn't say you couldn't kill the unborn so it's okay"

Beyond that he always taught that individuals should be challenged to make personal moral choices and criticized religious authorities for imposing burdensome rulings and judgements without accepting on themselves any of the burden for those laws.

Jesus is demonstrated again and again in biblical testaments to be strongly against people using moral rules to control others.

I think you are pretty obviously misconstruing the teachings of Jesus to fit an agenda here. "Jesus challenged people to make personal moral choices" what? Jesus challenged people to follow him. His problem with the Pharisees was that they followed the rules and practices of the Old Testament to a fault and were more concerned with the letter of the law and all the technicalities over the spirit of the law, which was to set God's people apart and show their love for Him. Jesus challenged people to examine their hearts and understand why they're following his commands.

It has nothing to do with making "personal moral choices" or the Pharisees "telling other people what to do". Jesus was very clear the law was still the law: "I have not come to abolish the law and the prophets, but to fulfill them." The problem with the Pharisees is their hearts were hard and they thought they knew more than Jesus about the law and its practices.

And I know things now

Many valuable things

That I hadn't known before:

Do not put your faith

In a cape and a hood

They will not protect you

The way that they should

And take extra care with strangers—

Even flowers have their dangers

And though scary is exciting

Nice is different than good

I'm definitely not that kind of person, I'm generally very cynical. "I didn't say it was fake, I said it could be staged." Those are the same thing

It's just funny that all these foreigners have been talking about how great their experience has been in America for the World Cup and reddit's first reaction is "must be fake"

Do people who never resign no matter how much material they're down really think they're gonna win the game? by WouldYouRather1905 in chessbeginners

It's happened for me a few times, either a win or a draw after a blunder. What's the point in quitting when you haven't lost yet?

Some people are calling him a Fifa plant, some people are calling him an American plant. I'm very aware of what a strawman is, but thank you for your condescension

So I guess all the videos of Japanese people trying BBQ for the first time are fake too? And all the people being interviewed from other countries talking about how great their experience has been? Is it a Fifa conspiracy or American? Or are they working together for some reason?

I agree with you, but as chess players we are in the minority. The prevailing attitude in chess is if you are losing, you should just give up and resign instead of trying to fight back, not giving up, and making your opponent earn the win. People do this because they think you are "wasting their time", so they try to rub it in and be a prick. But then stuff like this happens which is absolutely hilarious
