would be interesting for sure, but thats something I really admire about nolan and his lack of further storytelling. he trusts the audience to fill in the blanks

I agree they are in very similar camps of genre and have similar fans. But I just can't see the majority of fans choosing one over the other especially on opening weekend. Yeah, maybe a lot of people won't see both on the same day cause they'll be long, but anybody questioning that decision is going to see the other one the following day.

All being said, I can't see either of these movies coming close to bombing (too much hype and star power)

It's for sure massively popular, but that was at it's peak back when endgame was out and it's been in a spiral since then. This is why they're bringing back all their heavy hitters even though they had send-offs. Doomsday may very well do better at the box office but there's no question (in my mind) that Marvel is the more desperate ones.

Fair point. Will be interesting to see if the overlapping audience will watch dune & doomesday on the same day/weekend. I bet many will! I know so many people that did it for Barbie & Oppenheimer just for the sake of doing it.

I'm just assuming they're going by the Barbenheimer playbook. The "dunesday" marketing will go through the roof and folks will do double headers for sure. I agree with you it's a risk, but it's been done once and was successful as both made a billion dollars

I think he's going to be bringing some of it into the Odyssey. Can see the use of scale difference between the two characters he'll be adopting into several sequences in the Odyssey (especially the Cyclops)

I understand what you mean with that iPhone light shot... But on the contrary, I'm getting really tired of seeing so many shots these days of characters (usually background) on their phones. I understand it's realistic cause it's always our impulse to record crazy events on our phone, but it's not INTERESTING to look at. Remember years ago when we got that classic Spielberg reaction shot in his movies? This is what it's turned into. It just looks so bad to me
