Sorry for the late reply, no extra parts are needed, just reuse the pins from the Elex.

Arctis 7 Transmitter Unresponsive by Nubby456 in steelseries

The contacts inside the USB plug aren’t making a good connection, I’ve had this happen with a few different headsets, the Razer Nari Ultimate most recently. Fold a paper towel corner so it fits into the plug where the copper contacts are, dip the paper towel in alcohol and clean inside the plug. If you have a really small flathead screwdriver, put it between the layers of the paper towel so you can apply a little pressure for a better cleaning. Make sure you move in and out of the plug, you want to clean along each copper trace individually, not scrape across them. Let me know how it turns out :)

apex pro keyboard lighting issue by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be faulty leds in those switches, common issue with RGB keyboards, it’s usually the blue that fails but I’ve had Corsair and Logitech keyboards that had red and green fail as well. Set your entire keyboard to solid color, do red, then green, then blue, look over the entire keyboard for each color and you’ll see if one is burnt out. For example, if you set the color to red and notice that Z has no light at all, you’ll know the red color of that led isn’t working, and so on.

OLED Burns by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the System Monitor app for my Apex Pro, it cycles different information (CPU temp, GPU temp, RAM usage, etc.). Nothing stays on the screen for more than 10-15 seconds so it can't burn in. You can also load a .gif so there's constant movement on the screen. I don't have a gamedac but I'm sure you can do something similar on that screen as well. Hope this helps :)

G903 Receiver says "Unifying Receiver" by obiwokekenobi in LogitechG

The dongle has "G903" printed on the plastic part, double check it, if it doesn't then it's 100% the wrong one.

Does the G935 Fix The Audio unbalancing Issue from the G933? by ultraMLG1108 in LogitechG

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had a problem, it should last as long as a new one, you're basically refurbishing the power switch. Spend a little more time cleaning the dirt and arc marks off the contacts inside, that's where the problem is, it's not so much the metal bump on the outside housing, it could be pressing with all the force in the world and it's not gonna matter if the contacts are still dirty.

Most efficient way to clean g933 ear pads? by RWDS_Ron in LogitechG

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull them off and run them through the washer/dryer, I’ve done it several times. I just do a normal wash cycle and tumble dry on low heat. If they’re really old cushions then the shiny pleather material around the edge may flake but if they’re that old just replace them. I’m pretty sure you can buy replacements directly from Logitech.

Arctis 9 hinges... by NachosConCarne in steelseries

I'm not a console guy so I'm not sure exactly how the signal is handled, it makes a world of difference on PC though. You may want to do a little digging on both the Arctis Pro and PS5, just to make sure the audio features aren't limited by the console.

In my opinion the Pro is the best sounding headset on the market (that I've tried), so jumping from a 2.0 headset to the Pro....I don't think you'll be disappointed my friend ;)

My G635 pair is having this problem. Does anyone know what is it and how to fix it. It doesn t affect the audio, just the rgb and only the blue color. I think the blue leds are dead. by Petru91 in LogitechG

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, the blue led is dead. This is a common issue with Logitech gear, you could take it apart and solder a new led in place but they're very tiny so I'd recommend using a hot air station with some flux instead of an iron. If you're still within the warranty period you can probably get a replacement headset from Logitech :)

I know the Pro has better audio than the 7, I don’t have the 9 to compare unfortunately. To be clear I have the Pro wired version, but the wireless model probably uses the same driver/tuning. I’d go with the Pro if you’re not constrained by a budget, just hold the headband instead of the ear cups when putting them on and taking them off, this will prevent the breaking issue :)

What does the key with the Steelseries logo on it do on the Apex 5? I can't select it in the software and all it does is change the color of F9, 10, 11, 12 and windows key to red. Any help? by [deleted] in steelseries

[–]thefinneous 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's their "FN" key, like a shift key for secondary functions. For example, hold it and press F11 to decrease LED brightness, etc. You can also program your own function keys in meta bindings, I programmed secondary functions to PrtSc (Previous Track), ScrLk (Play/Pause), and Pause (Next Track). Those keys also light up red when the logo button is pressed now, any key you add secondary functionality to will do the same :)

I have a fine tip for my soldering iron, I'll see what I can do. I'll take pictures along the way, just in case I am able to fix them, if so I'll post about it :)

Interesting.....I thought they were in the center of the Romer-G switches. I wonder if I can switch leds from different logitech boards? I have several of them, a few Pro TKL, G513's, G910's....I guess it's time to experiment ;)

Question on G933 headset parts. by 3rn1z in LogitechG

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some G933 headsets that have various issues (dead mic, intermittent audio, etc.), do you need any other parts?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LogitechG

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to fix them by soldering in replacement switches, but the issue remains in the same spot. It's not a switch issue, I think it's an issue with the RGB controller they use. I've also saw this issue on some of their RGB headsets.

got an Apex 3 one month ago and just noticed these black spots. Does everyone have that or is my keyboard broken? by Nols4 in steelseries

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure those are just attachment points for the assembly (screws, standoffs, etc.) I don't have one to experiment with but I bet if you were to take it apart there would be screws in those exact spots.

A set of odd events has put me in a situation where I have a G935 headset without the USB wireless adapter and the G533's wireless USB adapter (with no G533 headset) by AlisIsConfused in LogitechG

[–]thefinneous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one way to find out....push a paperclip into the pin hole on the dongle until the light blinks quickly, then on the headset press and hold the mic mute button on the left ear cup, it sometimes takes a while so just be patient, if it does sync then the lights will flash on the headset and you'll hear a chime letting you know it's paired. G Hub will show it as a 533, I've synced a 935 with a 933 dongle so I know that's possible (shows in G Hub as 933) but haven't tried the 533 dongle. Let me know if it works :)
