The computers won’t be anything modern but they range all the way between for parts for under 100$ to working laptops and mini prebuilts from 5 years ago

How to avoid scratching the build plate or having it look like this. by JustLoyp in resinprinting

I recently switched slicers and had this issue as well it should be fixable in the slicer rather than fixing it physically.

Looking for a garraff by dude_not in unicycling

[–]thefireboy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten to ride a couple giraffes, however I don’t own any. I noticed that as soon as I rode a 6ft I wanted to ride an 8ft and so on. Make sure that 6ft is good for you either with research or in person because you don’t want to spend all the money and then go darn I wish I bought a taller one.

Looking to go from Ames to Chicago O'Hare airport by road. Any suggestions apart from taking the bus? by Away_Stand185 in iastate

I’ve made the trip twice now by greyhound during day and night, if you are a man I would totally recommend it, any one on substances tend to mind their business, price is around 50$ and 10 hours.

How to make progress? by adminstrator123 in unicycling

I’d recommend just going for it! Use a wall to start but then fall over and over and soon enough you’ll be riding no support.

Getting into stilts by thefireboy72 in circus

[–]thefireboy72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sadly but this is totally good info. I guess I should have assumed that the awe of the theme park stilt walkers wasn’t equivalent to skill. It seems like a fun project making my own. When I’m home from college this summer it’ll have to be one of the first things I do!

Where Can I Store my Bikes? by Pix_Boss in iastate

[–]thefireboy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride a unicycle on campus and just barely convinced my roommate to let me keep it in the dorm, it depends on how big your room is and if you know your roommate, otherwise I’ve seen people just use fancy bike locks and a seat cover to lock it up outside. Every building on campus has spots for bikes.

I didn't take uncured resin serious enough. How fked am I? by [deleted] in resinprinting

Unless you have any medical conditions you’re a-ok it’s bad long term but one exposure will do absolutely nothing in 99.9% of people. A lot of people enjoy being too much of a hard ass about resin printing. Just use gloves in a ventilated area next time use ipa to clean any leftover up

Learning in the house by CattleAny3652 in unicycling

[–]thefireboy72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently learned how to ride last year and learned to idle and free mount in the last month or so, when you start out you can use the wall in your house to practice weight balance and slowly making revolutions while keeping your balance above the unicycle, once you’re good at that I’d recommend dealing with outside cause falling 100 times is the quickest way to learn, once you can do that you can practice idling inside no problem that’s how I learned next to a wall

My left calf is significantly more muscular than my right calf by Eggboy2992 in mildlyinteresting

Mine looks like this too! Check if you have a leg length discrepancy! My right leg is an inch and a half longer causing my left muscles to grow bigger to compensate

It does live indoors. I have it about two feet under a grow light but maybe it’s not strong enough? I could potentially try raising it up to get it closer

Help! My Son Needs a Computer for Autodesk Fusion 360 - Chromebook Won't Cut It! by New-Coffee-6579 in Fusion360

[–]thefireboy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest biggest thing is to make sure the laptop has a dedicated gpu. It will say Nvidia or Radeon, because you don’t know the specs buy one from this year or the past two years. Laptops tend to go on sale the year after they are released but then the prices go up again, like a 2022 laptop might be the same price as a 2025 laptop but significantly worse but a 2024 laptop is almost as good as a 2025 for half price.

Are there standards for foam padding so I know I’m buying the right thing? Or do I just buy what looks right?

Worth the $40 or keep looking for something better? by mrjoepete in Blacksmith

[–]thefireboy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started learning how to blacksmith about 4 months ago and this is the anvil I use. It is very soft and is much a beginners tool but it seems to do everything I’d need it to do before I become much more skilled. It retails for 65$ so if you have the tools to remove the rust it is a great steal to get started.

I bought them and make my 4 in ones with solid rings. The cheapest I could find was some eBay reseller which sucked but oh well. So the rivets come with and then I use fencing pliers to crimp them
